Forgive me if I'm clueless. I'm a bit of a newbie w/the details and I want to make sure I get it all right. Dh's car (1999 Saab95) doesn't have self-locking seat belts and the Britax Frontier doesn't have a locking mechanism either. What do I do?

I think your belts DO lock...check the 'latchplate', that's the male/metal side of the seatbelt, and it probably has a little sliding button that shows a picture of a carseat or a seated adult. Slide it to the carseat side. Then the lapbelt should stay tight, which is all you need for a good install :). (my 1997 Saab had that switchable latchplate and it was SO easy to get a good carseat install!).

One of our members has a web site with a wonderful primer on seatbelts and locking clips: http://www.carseatsite.com/lockingclips.htm
