Can someone show me what this should look like? I'm using a 2001 Honda Accord DX with tether anchors (is that what they're called?) on the back ledge between the back seat and the rear window. Where should the straps lie? Should they go over the seat back right over my child's head? Or should they go around the sides of the top of the seat? I didn't see a photo of a rear-facing tether installation in the manual.

Thanks! :scratcheshead:

Actually, for rear-facing tethering you would typically use the d-ring and tether towards the front of the vehicle. Tethering to the back to a standard ff tether anchor is, I believe, no longer recommended by Britax.

To tether using your d-ring, you'll want to find a stationary, structural part of the vehicle, usually under the front driver or passenger seat. Loop the d-ring around it, pass the metal plate/ring through the webbing loop, and clip the tether to the plate/ring. You can adjust your recline angle using the tension on the tether. If it's fine the way it is, just take up the slack. If you need a deeper recline, apply more tension.

I know, clear as mud, but the manual actually has some pretty decent pictures in it. Give that a try, and if you get stuck, holler and we'll try to help out!

Thanks. I'm working on it. I'm a little confused about the D-Ring, but you're right, the page on tethering does have good pictures. I'm going to keep working on it and I'll be back.

the d-ring basically looks like this-

Britax calls it the tether connector strap and their metal plate is a bit different. You wrap it around something that is metal, immovable, forward of the vehicle from the carseat you are tethering and is anchored to the vehicle frame. Seat legs work great if they are exposed.

Thanks. I'm looking for that part. That's separate from the tether straps, then?

It usually ships connected to the tether, but any Wizard is at least 3 years old. Hopefully it's not long gone, but it probably would be in my house.

You might find it stuffed in the bottom of the pouch at the top of the cover, the one that hangs over the back of the carseat.

I may have removed it (from the pouch if it had been in there) when flying. :hitselfonhead: I'm thinking and thinking... How would I get a replacement if I truly can't find it?

You can order it direct from Britax. It is only $5, but their shipping is usually outrageous-

and here's a better picture of the actual part that Britax uses-
