I know there are boosters with Lower latch anchors, but are there boosters with a top tether??? I want to install a booster in the 3rd row of my surburban, which only has a tether hook...

thanks in advance for your advice

The only boosters which have a top tether are seats which are combination seats - a combo seat is a harnessed seat that converts to a booster seat. Currently the Graco combo seats, and the Britax frontier seat allows the tether to remain attached while the seat is being used in booster mode.

If your vehicle doesn't have LATCH, that's perfectly fine. It's the seatbelt that is ultimately securing your child anyways and there's no data suggesting that a booster seat which isn't latched poses any risk.

Just make sure, that when the booster isn't occupied, the seatbelt is still buckled. My general rule of thumb is that kids who are old enough to be in boosters are old enough to be learning to re-buckle it when they get out of the vehicle.

And the Recaro Start :). I only have top tethers in the back of my van and I use that seat there :)
