Hello,I am trying to decide between the Regent and the Frontier. I have only had Britax so I can't compare to any other manufactuer. My daughter just purchased 2 Regents for the girls (one week before Frontier was released) She has a min van. I drive a 2006 Camary.

The girls are 3. One is 39" -36lbs and will be tall, other 36"-36lbs and is tracking smaller. I currently have two Decathalons. I tried the Regents in the car and its very tight. I was set on the Regents but oh they are big and heavy and NOW after reading about the Frontier I don't know which to get. I know it's not been tested but everyone here seems so informed. Any suggestions would be so helpful.

When they are, say, 7 years old and 50" tall, will you want them harnessed or boostered? If you will want them harnessed, get the Regent since it has taller strap slots. If you'll be okay boostering them, consider the Frontier.

I agree with Judi; the regent will give them longer in the five point harness and that is the safest way to go.

I"ll be a naysayer since I own a 99 Camry and say -- try out the Frontier first.

Reasons:
mandatory recline bar takes away a lot of leg room in the sedan. Plenty of room for a 3 year old, but a pretty steep slant & tight fit for, say, a 6 year old if your front seats aren't pulled forward.

Outboard passenger sides have very short tether spots due to speaker positions on the back dash (if they haven't redesigned). I can't even use the top tether in outboard thanks to how the top tether buckle on the Regent won't slide around in the shell. :(

hth :)

I was also trying to decide betweent he regent and the frontier! Our son is 4.5 yrs and weighs 51 lbs. He has a 16.5 inch torso. Do you think the frontier would keep him harnessed for a couple more years? If so I think the Frontier would be fine for us. THe fact that it can be booster latched and had TSIP is a plus for the frontier. The regent is probably more roomier though. WHy can't there be the perfect seat?????? They both have great benefits and a few minuses!
