So for anyone who didn't read my post: Kid #2 earlier this week, here's the situation. DH has had his 5 and 6 year olds in Clek backless boosters for over a year. So along comes me into the mix, and convinced him to totally overhaul the car seat situation, plus get his three kids seats for my truck. Faith, the 6 yo, is too tall to re-harness. But I was sure by measuring Griffin's (the 5yo) torso that I could re-harness him in a Radian. I just got him to sit in the Radian and his shoulder's are half an inch above the top slots. So much for that idea!

So someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but those are the highest harness slots currently available in the CDN market right? I had planned to get him a Radian for my truck, and then have him and my DS (who's currently in an Apex, harnessed) trade so he could use the Apex as a booster and my DS could stay harnessed. Then I was going to get him a Frontier or a Nautilus for DH's truck when thery came out. But if the Radian is too "short" for him, those seats will be too right? Am I really looking at not being able to re-harness this kid?!

On another note, I noticed tonight that Faith and Griffin's ears are both at the top of the headrest in DH's truck. (Headrest does not adjust). Which leaves only glass directly behind their heads. This can't be good. So someone please confirm that I need to get them in HBB's asap in that truck. I was hoping to wait for the Monterey this summer.

Thanks in advance, this has thrown me for a loop.

Did you try installing the Radian with the front FF foot down? Sometimes that little bit of recline is enough to give more harness height room.

Yes, the Radian has the highest top harness currently available in Canada.

Yes, I would put them in a HBB.

But not enough to spend $230 on a new Radian for him when our younger two are already in basically brand new harnessed seats. :( I just can't believe he's too big! He is really a pretty small boy for just turned five!

So it looks like Turboboosters for them for now (which will be moved between vehicles as required), and then two Monterey's this summer, which will stay in DH's truck due to the no headrests and latch anchors in his truck, and the TB's will go in my Durango. (If I still have the Durango, don't even get me started there....)

This sucks! Now I have no one to buy a Frontier or Nauti for! :p
