My friend has a suburban and a 4 yr old 42 lbs dd. Dd is on the 3rd slot of her MA, so lots of growing room, but they need a 2nd carseat for 2nd car. Dd has long legs, so I posted a week or two ago about hwh seats for a long-legged child and was told regent or nautalus.

She likes the looks of our regent so today we decided to try it in both her cars. Fit like a dream in their ford 350 pickup. But in the suburban we ran into trouble. She'd like dd in the 3rd row if possible, but there are no other kids in seats so wherever a fit can be made, she's fine with.

I did short belt path (since she's over 40 lbs) with recline bar.

In the center, even with a twist (I couldn't get more than one twist) the buckle stalk plus latchplate didn't allow a tight install. On the side, I just couldn't get it tight- again, probably was the buckle stalk.

Has anyone had any success installing a regent in a suburban? Please help!

TIA!

The only way I got it into my friends Suburban(1993) in the third row was with the long belt path. She didn't have rigid buckle stalks, but they are extremely long. We did however get a good install in the middle of the second row with the automatic locking lapbelt with the short belt path. She left the side of the second row down though for access to the third row.

Thanks! I am assuming it is true that with any new regent my friend would have to do the short belt path with a child over 40 lbs... is this accurate?

Yup definately. I was just trying it to see if I could get it in at all in the third row.
