I am looking at purchasing the new Britax Frontier for my 4yo DD who has almost outgrown her current seat, but I've heard that you need tether anchors in order to use the harness which I would like to do. But the car she rides most in doesn't have the tether anchors (95 Toyota 4 runner). She and her little sister are in Marathons right now and would love to have the tether anchors installed in our 4 runner. Is there a way to tether the marathon RF in the 4 Runner too? TIA!

Page 263 of the 2007 LATCH manual says:Tether anchor kits: Almost all pre-2000 US and Canadian vehicles can be retrofitted and use the same kit, part number 73709-12010, called "Bracket Sub-Assembly, Tether Anchor". See exceptions, next column. (The 4 Runner is not one of the exceptions. -Ulrike) Kit is pre-assembled and includes an 8mm bolt, anchor bracket and spacer. It sells for approximately $12.00.
It also says, "Always refer to the owner's manual for proper use and exact location of anchor points."
Installation costs vary (can run in the hundreds! or can be free), but depending on how handy you are and where the anchor points are, you may be able to do the installation yourself. Just be sure to follow the instructions in your vehicle manual! No making it up as you go along with this sort of thing.

Thanks so much! I was able to find in our owner's manual where the anchor points are and I was also able to order the part from our local Toyota dealer. It looks like and easy install (for my husband). I will feel much better having the anchors in the truck now. Even if we don't decide to get the Frontier, our Marathons can be tethered. Thanks again!

I showed the toyota dealership parts department my manual and they ordered me a bolt and a clip for the seat belt instead of the bracket... *uhg* Still waiting for them to find me the right part for my 93 4-runner. *fingers crossed* I'll call them with that part # on pp and see if they can find it with that.
