I got a MA less than an month ago for my son, but he has less room to grow
in it than I had hoped and I just really don't like it enough to keep it. I am hoping to sell it to a friend, and get a RA instead. Is it fair to ask her to buy
the RA and then we can trade? I'd be getting a new new seat then and she'd be getting a 2/2008, used for a month or two (obviously no accidents). But she'd be getting the MA she wants for the price of a RA. What do you all think?
thanks!

You want to trade your Marathon for a Roundabout

I'm still deciding, but I think yes. Is that so strange? I really loved our old RA
(gave it to my folks for their car, for our little one). I was hoping for more out of the MA....more room, easier harness adjustment (I HATE the harness adjustment). Who knows, could be different for #2, but what we seem to gain for our older child with the MA just doesn't seem like enough to me. I'd rather get him a Nautilus or Frontier (or Safegaurd, or Regent, or.......), and have another RA for the baby. I just needed something and the MA sounded like it would do the trick.

FWIW I don't think it's strange. I'm about 99% positive I'm going to retire the MA when DD1 eventually moves to a booster and just leave my youngest in her RA. I've never really liked my MA even after having one almost 5 yrs. I put up with it for the harness height and Britax quality, but now that there are and soon will be other options, I have little desire to use it any longer.

I would sell the ma for $200 and then buy yourself a new roundabout in the collegiate patterns that are $149 at babyage.:twocents:

I guess I am confused since you said he has less room to grow in it than you had hoped, yet he'll still fit in a RA?
ETA: oh never mind, I see that you're going to get him a bigger seat and give the RA to the baby. That makes sense. I would have your friend buy the RA and then trade. That would make sense, and she's getting a good deal!

I would let your friend buy it. It sounds like you would both be getting a good deal then.
She would get the almost new MA for the price of an RA from a trusted friend.
And you would be able to get an RA without worrying about selling and possibly shipping it.

Thanks everyone! Sorry if I was confusing....it all made perfect sense to me
So it sounds like that's a reasonable plan. Now to see if she's really up for it ;)
