My mom has a cheapy tb that she uses for ds when he rides in my dad's cars or truck. Today I went to put it in so he could go to church and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how it goes together:eek: I know, I feel really stupid right now, but I know I've put them together before and never had an issue so I'm wondering if they have broken it somehow so that the high back part doesn't fit on. So can someone explain to me how to attach the back to the bottom part so I know if I need to buy another compass seat or not:eek::(

It's easiest to put the base on the ground and lay the back on the ground behind it. Then you'll see how the hooks go (like two C's facing down, and one C facing up, IIRC), you'll get the C's around the bar on the back of the base, then stand it up, voila!

Good explanation.

I turn mine all the way upside down to get them on.

As in, have the base sitting at the edge of a table, then flip the back completely upside-down, slide the "C-hooks" onto the bars, then flip it right-side-up.

Jools, I didn't even know you could do it just laying it down!

I don't know if I can, Debbie, it's been yonks since I've seen my Turbo, lol..but I think it's about just 'seeing' the C's so that you can grok how they fit around the bar

I typically flipped my Turbo upside down and fitted the back on from behind. It's easier to see where everything should puzzle together that way.

In the future, if you carry it by the armrests it's less likely to pop apart.

Yes! I carry them by holding them under the armrests, too, with the back up against me. (So that the TB is horizontal to the ground, the back is against my hip, my arm under an armrest.)
