The seats that slide forward and spring forward for passengers to get out behind it, if the radian is behind it rear facing, can you leave the front seat forward, not cliped back or could this cause a problem in an accident?

My vehicle manual is pretty clear that the seats MUST be in a locked position when driving...maybe yours says something? :)

My manual has nothing about child seats in it at all :(
I would presume that it has to be locked, but does that include the seat back and base or just the seat base (sliding piece)?

I do not have your manual to read it, but I do not recommend leaving it up while driving. :twocents:

The positioning of the seats in travel position would likely be referenced in the section of your manual that details how to operate the seats. The locked position for travel is a rule in most vehicles and is completely separate from child restraints, although might be restated in the child restraint section of some vehicle manuals.

But most vehicles don't allow you to use a 3rd row with the 2nd row seats not locked into place. I would go through the vehicle manual & components of your vehicle section/how to use & operate the seats section and see what it says there. If it doesn't say anything, than assume it has to be in a locked position while travelling since that's what most of them say. ;)

Thank you everyone for your help. I guess the radian will be out for that car then. What other convertibles are good for NB?

Can you remove the seat?

I've heard that the Evenflo Triumph Advance is a good one for newborns. The harness apparently goes pretty low.
