The only piece of baby equipment I have more of than bouncers is wraps :o

I started out with 2 old hand-me-downs and they were great for dc1, but bit the dust before dc2 came. I tried about a half dozen with dc2 trying to find some as good, but couldn't really. The FP infant-to-toddler rocker was pretty good, but was so big that we sold it when we moved. I borrowed a FP ocean wonders bouncer that dc2 liked, but I couldn't afford to buy one at the time. We hated the kick and play, on the rare occasions it would work. And the baby einstein one was so hard to assemble and put batteries in! For dc3 I finally bought an ocean wonders- he hates it. I also bought the baby einstein rocker- it's HUGE. I've ALWAYS wanted to try a bjorn babysitter, but the price is prohibitive (that sounds really stupid now considering how much I've spent on buying so many). Anyone have the Svan one? That canopy looks really blocking, would a baby tolerate that?

What have you used? Loved?? Hated???

I had the FP infant to toddler rocker chair also. It was ok as a bouncy seat but I wasn't much impressed with it as a rocker. The boys had a hard time sitting in it. I purchased a regular FP bouncer that was a farm print after that with the toy bar and loved it!:D It bit the dust some time back and I purchased one of the new FP papasan bouncy seats. It is great for little babies as it cradles them wonderfully, but not so great on bigger babies as it seems shorter than the other FP bouncers. I am looking at purchasing the FP Rainforest bouncer soon for DS#5 after he arrives and I also like a bouncer I saw at our local Walmart the other day, not sure of the name but I think it is Bright Start?.:)

we just bought this bouncer last week:
http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2002&e=product&pid=44366

so far, i really like it! the toy bars move to the side which
makes it a lot easier to get the baby out. the seat rocks
(you can rock it with your foot:thumbsup:)
and is nice and comfy for the baby altho we use it with
an infantino body support.

(sorry about the size, i can't figure out how to make it smaller:o)

I bought the cheapest one I could find at walmart and I've loved it!! (This was just a month or two ago) It has 3 different recline settings, one upright, one reclined, and one flat. Works awesome, when he falls asleep I just recline it to the flat position! It also seems HUGE (or maybe he's just tiny??) so I imagine it would fit a large baby really well!

(I'm pretty sure it was 19.99 in the store)

The toy bar also snaps on and off very easy.

Oh, super grape, that's a new baby, isn't it? She's cute! Or maybe "she's" a boy wearing hand-me-down pink, like my little guy?

Yeah, the infant-to-toddler rocker wasn't much good as a rocker... the baby einstein one is even worse.

I've heard a lot of good things about the lower-priced FP and Bright Starts bouncers, I'll have to keep that in mind.

Alright, I admit it, I haven't tried any of these bouncers yet but when I have another baby, these are the seats I'm going to narrow my choice down from:

Some of them are "rockers" instead of "bouncers". I know, I'm not much help, sorry!

I have a Safety 1st reclining bouncer (http://dmart.stores.yahoo.net/saf1stgenvib.html). I liked the recline position and it seemed to work well with ds.

OMG!!!! DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!

I had one and it was ok at first and the folding feature was nice but the heavier C got, the more reclined it was and she hated it. By the time she was old enough to use it as a seat, it was so reclined, she wouldn't touch it with a ten foot poll. Also the optional wooden toy rack, the paint chipped off and it didn't get alot of use. Complete waste of money.

Wow, good to know, thanks. I'd wondered about that heavier child use. It says it can be used for toddlers, but in all the pictures with them, they are *barely* sitting on it.

Sillylilly, try the Svan!! I want a real-world review of it! :)

Someone was selling a Svan on craigslist a few weeks ago for $70. I was soooo tempted, but dh would have not been very impressed. Especially because I just bought a MA that don't need during the sale! And my DD is 18 months old, so I wouldn't have any one to "try out" in it. Dernit!;)

I had a FP Ocean Wonders my son loved!! DD much prefered the Bright Stars Pink bouncy from Wal-Mart. I think it was $25. When it is reclined it is deeper and cradles a newborn better than the baby papisan and then can be set more upright. I adored it!!!!! Congrats!!

I know it's pricey, but I was given a Maclaren bouncer and it is NICE!

I've used it for DS to sleep in when he's sick and really congested since it sits up, and he sleeps great in it. It's much more supportive than most bouncers and my 40+ lb DD says that it's very comfy. It can be a rocker and also has a vibrate feature that I've never used (I didn't put batteries in it.) If cuddles a snall baby very well, but DS can still comfortably sit in it at 1 year and 25 lbs. When he wasn't feeling good I buckled him in to watch Curious George with DD and he fell asleep.

I got the kettler bouncer/rocker off Amazon for $17.99 w/ free shipping when DS was a newborn and liked it just fine...till I got the Maclaren. It's very simple and well built and goes from laying flat to sitting up.

Found another one that is really, really cool (there are two colors, I've posted links to both):

Tan (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0010754P8)

Blue (http://www.babyuniverse.com/genProduct.html/PID/4528759/ctid/17?ci_sku=482476&ci_src=14110944)

Ian loved his FP Rainforest bouncer. The vibrate feature kept us sane, and DS happy.

So after Earth Hour 2008, we realized how many things we had that needed electricity and/or batteries. And how we didn't really need many of those items, and could replace most of the remaining with non-electric items. Ta-da! Garage sale! All the battery-operated bouncers went. With the profits, I bought 2 new bouncers to try: The Bjorn Babysitter and the Svan bouncer. The bottom line is that the Bjorn is better for light babies, the Svan for heavier babies. 12lb dc loves the Bjorn's bounce, hates the stiff back of the Svan. 26 lb dc lays the Bjorn almost flat, but gets a really smooth bouncing action in the Svan. So now I have to decide if it's worth holding onto the Svan for when dc3 is older/bigger... If I don't, he'll quickly outgrow the Bjorn. If I do keep it, he'll never need the Svan.

They are both really nice bouncers. The Svan is a bit more complicated. It has to be completely disassembled to wash the seat, and I find that annoying.
