I need some feedback from all you knowledgable people here...
DD2 (34mo, 30lbs) is currently rf in a radian. However, she has now reached 30lbs, so according to the sticker she must ff. She just seems so tiny...I'm not comfortable with her ff. Plus, we've got an 8 hr road trip in two weeks, and I'd really rather she stays rf at least for that trip. Do you think it's okay to "bend" the rules on the sticker and keep her rf for about another 6wks? I'm only considering it because I know the radian in the US is rf for 33lbs...and my understanding is that they're the same seat. Am I out to lunch on this? Will I be compomising her safety by keeping her rf a little over 30lbs?

Thanks for any input!

I am NOT a tech... but I probably would leave her rf.... I'm in a similar position, my dd#3 is almost three and almost 30#'s and to be honest I almost put off weighing her just so I won't "know" (but she's still 29.7#'s dressed). I am so used to rf'ing and I feel so much safer that I just dread turning her.
Good luck with your decision.

Nobody can tell you to use the seat against the label, but it does say you can use it RF *to* 30lbs. So the question is--does that mean 30.0lbs or 30.9lbs? The dummy used to test your seat weighs 33lbs, so I would be comfortable using a seat RF to and at 30lbs, and then turning FF right at or just before the 31lb mark is reached. As far as I can tell, this is not incorrect use.

Is she 30 lbs fully dressed or in her birthday suit? If she's fully dressed, can you remove her shoes? I do that for DS anyways on long trips. I do that myself even! That would make her a little lighter.

I agree that I'd keep her RF. At least until she passes 30.99 lbs like Nicole said ;)

Kudos to you for keeping her RF so long!
