Phil & Ted's Single Stroller Sport Single in the City?

I won't be going on rough terrain much because I will be living downtown Toronto..

I use mine in the double mode in the city. It is my main stoller and i use it both as a single and double. I take it to the mall and just out on the streets. But if all you will use it for is in the city there are lighter stollers that are not jogging stollers that you might like better. It is not heavy as far as a jogging stoller but it is as an everyday one when you will never need it in rough terrain. I am very tired today so i hope you understand what i just said. I do love mine a lot though so if you like it get it

well we are planning on spacing our children 3 years apart..so i thought the double option would be nice (i currently have a few strollers - quest/zapp/triumph) but i want one for power walking (in the city) so i thought it'd be nice :) plus i like the lime green

It's still a good stroller for the city. I liked going down curbs with the big wheels, pot wholes and stuff. And it's easy to fold so even putting in the car was easy, even though it's a big stroller. I wouldn't have it if you have to drive everywhere before you stroll, but for walking right out your house or driving sometimes it's ok.

My girls are 3 yr 5 mo apart and I really like mine in both single and double mode. For folding up in the car...a bit heavy and not a small fold. Still, it's really not that much bigger folded up than my old Graco MetroLite travel system. Pushes like a DREAM with both girls in in (6 mo old-18.5+ lbs, 4 yr old-43-45 lbs:eek:). I even had her in the back seat over the weekend (yes, I know she's too heavy, but we were having a meltdown and it was fast) and it pushed great. This was in a mall, but even doing the hills (sidewalks) in the neighborhood, it's been great. I do notice it pushes worse if the tires get low on air.

I love this stroller and get the best comments from people. I definitely recommend it if your kiddos are about the same gap (or closer) than mine.

thanks for your input :) i am in such a confused place, i currently am deciding between the P&T, Valco Trimode, MBUS, and a Baby Jogger...it's making me all grrrr because i can't pick one!

...it's making me all grrrr because i can't pick one! I feel your pain! I made myself crazy about strollers. My old Graco was thrashed from doing too many steep curbs ont he way to the park. You could see the frame was not straight. I needed something desparately, but I didn't want to spend the $$ for a P&T, but I didn't want a cheapie stroller I'd only use for a short time before DD#2 was born. I also didn't want to spend a ton of money for something we wouldn't use very long--realistically, how long will a 3.5 yr old still ride in a stroller? I'm very happy I convinced myself to get the P&T. We had a great stroller before #2, a great stroller w/#2, and we'll have a great stroller once #1 decides she hates strollers.

I used the car seat adapter for our SnugRide and it was fine. The weird thing was the canopy was not installed 100% right (kept popping out the attachment) and once I fixed it, the adapter was a nightmare (kept popping off). I got fed up with it and just plopped the seat on the stroller (with the hooks holding it, just not the bar) and it was perfectly fine. :rolleyes: Shhh! Don't tell anyone I was using it wrong. I think I had read here that someone else did that, too.

When we had it in infant/toddler mode, my tall DD#1 was able to sit in the seat with the canopy down just fine. She's strange and like the canopy down all the time.

I did get the P&T cup holder thing. Not really worth it. I'd go with a smaller clip on version, but I do like the little storage area (like a giant fanny pack) for stashing keys, cell phone, etc.

My mantra that kept me sane during the great stroller debate was "There IS no perfect stroller!" If you can get most of your needs met, then you're doing great.

ETA: What sold me on the P&T was DH trying it out in a super crowded baby store and being able to maneuver around everything! He loved it! He had tried pushing a couple others there and was unimpressed. GL!
