I have an average size 2y/o and a large 10mo. I need a stroller that I can put them both in and go to places like, the doctors office, dentist, post office, you know the places where my large side by side double stroller just doesn't work. I have found the Tandem Transit and really like the look of it, any opinions? Oh ya, I CANNOT spend a lot of $, husband is going to have a fit as it is with me buying yet another stroller:whistle:
Thanks in advance

Honestly, tandems are MUCH more difficult to steer. Especially through doorways. Get a Side By Side (SBS) instead. Avalaon had one years ago that was a knock-off of the Graco SBS for about $70. The Graco was $130 or so - you'll have to check their website for current info.
FWIW, I had both the Avalon and the Graco, the Avalon is fine for lightweight kids, but I don't have lightweight kids. ;) The Graco worked better for us.
If you can get your hands on a used Maclaren SBS, it's definately worth it.

i had a tandem transit and used it for my older girls
from the time they were 2+ and 10 weeks to 3 and 1yrs.
i really liked it! it wasn't perfect but it was pretty good for
what it was.
the basket is a shoe box which can be an issue for some
and i found it steered much better with my oldest in the back
so as soon as the baby was old enuf she sat up front. she was
pretty sturdy tho and would even fall asleep in the front and be perfectly
fine with a blanket on her shoulder to keep her head straight.
when folded it's very narrow but also very long. it fit fine in the trunk
of our taurus tho.
oh yeah, the wheels on mine were really squeeky so i called
dorel and they sent me new wheels which helped plus i pledged
the heck out of them too:D which also improved the steering.
i ended up selling it before a big move and now have a mac twin triumph
which i also really love. dh preferred the tandem transit tho:).
hope that helps!

We had a couple of tandems for the boys, and I couldn't get rid of them fast enough. If Gregory was in back he'd slip under the front seat (even when buckled), and if CJ was in back he feet would get stuck under the front seat.

Huh. I think I'd hate it. lol But still better than the long ones I had that I couldn't actually reach the door to open it while steering the stroller. :p

yeah, this one is not too long. it makes the duoglider seem like
a ginormous boat.....also, the back seat has an enclosed foot area
so no worrying about slipping under the seat! that's one of the reasons
my oldest liked it back there so much:).

I have the Eddie Bauer Transit, it works for us. It folds really compact, like a umbrella stroller and fits in the back of my SUV with the 3rd seat in. It has different postitions for the handles, the things I don't like about it is that the back seat is small. It doesn't recline very well and not much foot space, the front seat doesn't recline at all. My DD is 13months and my niece is 14months and they both seem to fit in it pretty well. We have taken it on vacation with some friends and their 2yr old rode in the front and my then 9month old rode in the back. My DD was able to nap ok and it steers really nice through small spaces and large crowds. If I was going to get a Double stroller again I would get the Inglesina Twin Swift, it has tall handles and folds compact and is for sale at albeebaby.com for $189.99 compared to some places for $249.99.
