I bought a BabyPlanet Solo Deluxe stroller on a great deal ($99) and got it today. It has a napper bar that is removable. I took it off b/c I really don't understand what it's purpose is. Also, DD doesn't like the restriction of the shoulder straps of the 5 pt harness so I removed those and just use it as a 3 point. She just likes to be able to lean forward a bit but I still feel like she is very safe with just the 3 point.
Can someone explain to me the purpose of the napper bar? Also, am I the only one who uses stroller harnesses as 3 point instead of 5? (DD is 14 months)

Some babies like to grab onto the bar and hold it. Anna does this in her Zooper jogger, but not in her Graco Mosaic. (I think the bar is just too far away in the latter). She really likes holding that bar, actually! Some people attach toys to them, but I've never really bought any of those kinds of toys (since you can't use them on the carseat, I just stayed away).
No, you're not the only person to only use 3 points. I feel safe letting Anna have a little freedom to sit up in the light-weight stroller (but not the jogger).

Some kids use it as a footrest :)

And ps, a three point harness is fine depending on the temperment of the kiddo, IMO...my ds was a lump in his stroller, barely needed a seatbelt at all... but Leah? heck, i put a chest clip on hers, she's such a wild girl :D
