I have only had to use noodles with the Scenera. The other seats have always been fine on their own. :)

I'm a bit confused. Is it OK to use noodles, or not? A tech had used a noodle for my dd's seat, touriva I think, when she was a baby. But I think I seen reference here to not use a noodle.

Most manufacturers allow you to use pool noodles or a tightly rolled towel to achieve the correct recline angle. You always want ot check the manual before doing so though. ;) Some may not allow it.

You can use a pool noodle or rolled towel to adjust the recline on a rear facing seat. Some rf seats (particlulary those made by Dorel, as evidenced by this thread) do not provide an adequate angle for small babies without proper head control. The scenera would even be too upright for toddlers in most vehicles.
You cannot use anything under the base of a forward facing seat.

Great! Thank you all so much. I often find the single pool noodle slips into the bight of the CAR seat, but now I see how people are making it work. Thanks!
