Mr 3 yrs/ 30lb is RF in his Scenera. The pool noodle recently died so I wondered if I can get away with not using it anymore? I figure he doesn't *need* to be as reclined as when he was younger?
Can someone do that cool thingamy-whatsit and check the angle for me please?

Hope those pics are alright?
Also, is the buckle too close to the seat? It's *just* about an 1/8 of an inch away from the edge. I could do one or two more turns of the stalk...

Thanks in advance :D

The seat looks too upright to me even for a 3yr old. I'm betting with a little work you could get it reclined enough without a noodle though...

Try getting in behind the back of the carseat, and pushing in and down with your tummy/thighs/hips while tightening the seatbelt - also make sure the edge of the seat is right agains the seat bite.

As for the buckle position, it looks fine to me. All the way in or all the way out is the rule. The maximum number of twists you can put in a buckle stalk is 3 complete twists. I can't tell how many you have in it right now, but it's something to keep in mind anyways.

And kudos to you for having your 3yr old rf'ing still.

Thanks Snowbird. :)
Yes the stalk already has one twist. I *could* get the carseat tilted back a bit further I guess, will have to really ram it into the vehicle seat as he has dislodged it before when climbing in.
Cheers! :)

Focus more on pushing the back of the seat shell down so that the very back of the seat cushion (like where an adults legs would bend),) is getting compressed while tightening - pushing at that angle should help.

If the seat is dislodging though, or seems unstable, just use a rolled towel. I'd much rather see a rolled towel used than risk the seat being able to be moved by him climbing in and out... if the seat will change because of that, then it's not installed properly.

Wow, I knew it was too upright but didn't realize it was that upright. It's always interesting to see the #.

Awesome, thanks for doing the angle for that :) Pretty bad huh?:o

It's much better now, back to the way it was with the little level indicator horizontal again. :) I popped a tightly rolled towel under the front rim and rammed it as much into the vehicle seat as I could, and at that angle it feels much better 'braced' (is that the word for it?) against the seat. I will take another pic when I can. :)

ETA: Here it is BEFORE:

And AFTER:

Looking at it in the pic, the RF level sticker isn't as horizontal as it looked before, dunno why?
But there's still quite a difference I hope!

It's a rock-solid install, CRS you'd be proud of me lol, there's no way I can budge that seat!
