We just bought the Graco Nautilus for my husband's 1999 Chevy Tahoe. It doesn't have latch, so I have to use the seatbelt. Anyway, the instruction manual for the Nautilus lists the different kinds of seatbelts and how to use them. It lists the combination lap/shoulder belt with sliding latch plate, which is what the Tahoe has, and says I'm supposed to use a locking clip with it. The seatbelt has the automatic locking retractor, so do I really need the locking clip?

No, you don't need it if your seatbelt locks on its own. You would only need it if it was a sliding latchplate without a locking retractor. :)

In a 1999, if you have a sliding latchplate you will have a switchable retractor. Just pull the whole belt out slowly, until you hit the end, and then start feeding it back in. You will hear a clicking sound ;)

Thanks for the quick replies! It's late and I am therefore easily confused! :D
