Hi there. Thanks again to all who helped me with carseat selection. We received our beautiful cowmooflage MA yesterday, and I can't wait to install it!

Okay, now the next matter. We are now in need of a new stroller (YAY!!). We've been using the Snugride with the Snap-n-go, so I can't really use my MA until I get a new stroller. I was looking at the Maclaren volo, and the Inglesina swift, but you guys talk about lots of other strollers that seem much cooler. So, I'm looking for suggestions. My baby is 9 months old and probably close to 29 inches long (hence the need to get it quickly to get her out of the Snugride).

Main features I need are:
-smooth strolling
-stroller that will accommodate a tall semi-long torsoed kid
-basket (big preferably as I'm used to the giant snap-n-go basket)
-travels well (need to fly occasionally and will be primary stroller for running errands)
-easy non-frustrating fold & unfold (unlike my zooper disco)
-would like to stay under $200, prefer closer to $150 (my Mom is buying it so I don't want to go too overboard)

Thanks so much for your help, once again. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!:D

Have you ever tried babywearing? It's awesome!

Basket: You might need that big of a basket if you get like a "Skip Hop" Diaper Bag to fit on the back of the stroller. That will free up your whole basket:

Travel well: Volo, or any kind of lightweight umbrella. The Quinny Zapp also folds into a small duffle bag  That will also give you the "cool" factor I think you are wanting.

Volo around $99
Zapp $199

I do like baby wearing, but could probably use suggestions there as well. We have 2 Hotslings, but they really didn't work for us for very long at all. DD likes the Bjorn, she really likes to see everything going on. We were looking for a backpack that isn't huge to take on an upcoming trip as well. So, I'm open!

With the Volo, do kids complain about the seat? It seems so small and unsupportive. Just curious if little butts get sick of it. DD really likes her comfort.

I saw the Quinney Zapp in another post. It looks very mod, but does the leg/foot rest get filthy? Especially for younger/smaller kids whose feet may not touch yet? Is the basket hard to get to? Would the luggage guys ruin it if I check it plane side?

And, no, I don't like Bon Jovi, but I am really, really curious why you ask!

Thanks for the help!!

I would seriously start a new thread on this. There are MANY devoted, and very knowledgable momma's here that can help you :) I would start it in the "Community Member" forum.

I have never had a "filthy" issue. Maybe some other people can chime in on that. The fabric zips right off, and is washable! Plus the fabric is nice enough that you can just wipe it off if you need to.

Is the basket hard to get to...hmm....I haven't had a problem LOL!

Oh, you wouldn't need to check this stroller. You will carry it on the plane, and store it in an overhead bin

I will start a new thread, thanks for directing me on where to put it too!

Wow, washable fabric, that is really nice. Would come in very handy I'm sure, especially since I hope to have whatever stroller I choose for a few years.

And, I am always worried giving up my stroller before boarding. I always have the fear of never seeing it in working condition again. Luckily, so far, so good! The Snap-n-go has weathered 4 flights so far. So anyway, taking it on the plane would be nice. This may be a stupid question, but does it fit in the aisles? It would be great if I could just stroll her right to our seats.

The Rock Star Baby stroller looks really nice! Too bad it is way out of my price range! I love that you can face it either direction.

Have fun at the concert, and thanks again for the help!!

Hehe, oh no that's the one I dream of  I was actually referring to the Rock Star Baby Candy stroller, which is $139. Much more affordable.

Have fun at the concert, and thanks again for the help!!

Thanks! :D

For a 9 month old, I wouldn't go with a Volo, because I like something with recline. You never know when they will doze off, and if they do reclining is so much more comfy (at least it looks it:)) You could go for a Quest or Triumph, they are out there in your listed price ranges and are great strollers. It seems that the Quests are more recommended, I like both though. My 5yo rides in a Techno, he did have issues with the sling seat on our Volo, especially getting up from it. I also like the 55 lb. weight limit on the Macs, although at 36 lbs. I think he will outgrow it in height, well before he outgrows it by weight.
Albee has these:

I love the first one, but I know some people find it too busy. They also have some other Macs and Swifts marked down.

We never had a dirt issue with our Zapps either, and we loved them, although they sometimes drew more attention than I wanted. Ours didn't have recline or any storage, but I understand the new ones now have baskets.

I'm at exactly the place you are! Using the Graco snugrider with a Safeseat, but baby is ready for more of a stroller.

(we tried baby wearing, he really didn't like it. So that's a no-go. The basket is not used for the diaper bag, so changing diaper bags won't help either)

I think I've almost talked myself into the Baby Jogger City Mini stroller right at the $200 mark. I was at the baby store today trying it out and REALLY liking it.

I just sent a list of the competitors to my husband with the things I saw in them, etc. For him to look at.

or comparison, The Graco Snugrider stroller (by itself, without the carseat) weighs about 12 pounds Looking for: Canopy for sun/rain/hail protection. Deep enough recline to change diapers. Good basket for mall strolling.

The cheap choices, unfortunately, do not seem to be able to be tried out. Jeep Cherokee Sport Lightweight Stroller, Blue. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4308589
-- Can have shipped to a local wal-mart for free. and I'm sure can be returned to if there is a problem. but can't check fold or anything To go and check out would involve going a LONG ways and I can't find any more info on this. But according to _Baby Bargains_ the Jeep strollers, in general, are good quality. Note 5 star rating on Wal-mart. If we don't want any of the others, I'm going to go with this one.
-- Stroller weight 15.4 lbs

Graco Mosaic -- recommended by Baby Bargains in the lightweight category. I don't know much about it -http://www.babyage.com/products/6h00inc3_graco_graco_mosaic_stroller.htm?cp=goog40 312&utm_source=goog&utm_medium=Comparison&utm_campaign=40312
-http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4433216 walmart calls it Standard and not Lightweight. $120 -basket LOOKS nice in the image. 3D fold sounds kind of scary. an still $100. For the price I think I'd rather an Esprit that I know a bit more about. -19 pounds

Esprit Sun Strollers
-- good recline, good size basket. Cheap ($99 for Sun and $139 for candy). Evidently NOT tippy (large problem with Maclarens) Not available anywhere to try out :( http://strollerqueen.com/ -- Click Year of Strollers and then Search for "March" http://www.strollermama.com/esprit-baby-stroller.htm
-- 14 lbs stroller, up to 40 pounds carrying capacity.
-- apparently available from amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Esprit-Speed-Umbrella-Stroller-Color/dp/B000YH8MA4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1204429445&sr=1-3

I keep getting Inglesina recommended to me. But the particular one recommended, Zippy, is $350, WAY out of the price range I want to pay. (I consider $200 the absolute highest -- esp. because there are quite a few choices in that price range). I may be able to get one on Craigslist if that is the way we want to go. Inglesina Swift, 14 lbs, $119 http://www.letsgostrolling.com/2007-inglesina-swift-stroller.html

Maclaren triumphs are about $149, Quests (which I think I need for the deeper recline) are $199.
-- not impressed with canopy
-- available at babies R Us so can use 15% off coupon + 10% off entire order to drop price some
-- can try out at Merry Go Round too
-- Nice extra is the reflective striping on the Quest
-- lots of complaints of tippiness.
-- VERY small fold. very light. Triumph 11 lbs Quest 11.5 lbs -- can get 1 version of Quest for $120 at Albeebaby. http://www.albeebaby.com/ma20qumodsti3.html (well, they also have this in pink but I figure that is out of the questions)

Baby Jogger Mini
Available at Merry Go Round store to see. can get 15% if order ahead for March 12-16 sale. can also get 10% online with free shipping at another site I believe. Brand new, so craigslist not a real option. Great canopy. WONDERFUL fold. Doesn't fold as small as the umbrellas -- but folds flat. Would probably want to remove wheels to take on plane (or take a different stroller altogether -- I forgot to ask if there was a method of keeping it shut, say in an airplane. Though Letsgorolling thinks this is a great stroller) Fits taller children. 50 lb weight capacity. Weighs 16.8 pounds.

I have a Graco Mosaic in Ionic...Does the job but not my favorite but matched my SS1 so this was my travel system and the snap n go was in DH car ...

Then I got a Babyplanet solo sport in Charcoal, good recline, basket, and hood. Easy fold and unfold and not tippy.

Chicco Trevi which ended up being a decent stroller and it comes with a tray but the basket is small and the hood is useless...

My new baby is my bugaboo bee which I love:love: but the basket is useless but it glides like a dream ... so effortless...
