Boy am I happy to find this forum!:D
Been trying to switch our Evenflo Titan to face the front now that our daughter is 1 year old. LATCH seems to work great but having issues with the top Tether.
The hooks are there pretty much at the top of the seat. So I can hook the tether in pretty easily. The issue is I can't pull the slack on the tether tight. I'm at the end and there no slack left.
That make sense? The tether strap is at the end and cannot be pulled any tighter yet there's still lot of slack between the tether hook and the car seat.
I can try and take pics...

is there a fabric loop right behind the seat ur are using? if so thread the tether strap though that and then run it and hook to the centers hook if you are using outboard
if you are using center do the same thread it through and run it and hook to the seat right of it I think hold on and ill get the manual. its online at dodge.com

If your daughter is less than 30lbs (the RF limit of the Titan,) it really is MUCH safer to leave her RF... in fact she's 4 times less likely to be killed. The recommendation of 1y/20lbs for forward facing is old news. The new guidelines are to leave your children facing the rear until they reach the maximum weight or size of the seat.
When you are ready to turn her forward, I believe mburks26 is right. We rented a vehicle like yours, and the manual directed that you were supposed to use TWO tether anchors for each carseat. You were supposed to thread the tether through the loop directly behind your child's seat, then connect the hook to the tether in the position beside your child's seat.
HTH!

center you hook to the right seat. you can download the manual dodge.com owners and then service manuals go to year 2008 and then select the truck type and then after it downlaods pg 71-72 for quad cab. for mega cab its different.
edited I didnt see the 1yr part. thanks unityco for letting the op know bout the rearfacing.

Thanks for the helpful responses!
I read the manual several times over but never picked up having to loop the strap through. Makes sense though.
We have found that she has gotten a little too tall for rearfacing. Her feet are touching the backseat. Does that mean it's time to turn her around? I don't want to do so prematurely. She's about 22 lbs.
Thanks again.

Feet touching the vehicle seatback while rear facing is not a gauge of when a rear facing carseat is outgrown. It be would outgrown rear facing when she reaches the RF weight limit, or when there is less than 1 inch of plastic shell above the top of her head, whichever comes first. It's recommended to continue to rear face until the carseat is truly outgrown rear facing due to the safety advantages for your little one. Here's an excellent link explaining the advantages of extended rear facing and the protection it offers for the delicate neck and spine, including crash test videos comparing rear facing to forward facing: http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/stayrearfacing.aspx

Well thanks to you folks I spent what feels like half the weekend installing car seats. First turning them from RF to FF and then back again after finding this forum.:D
In all seriousness, I do thank you.
