Hi all,

How does the Regent install in the 07 Odyssey, captain's chairs (and/or the back seat)?

I am hoping someone answers because I have the same question! I am wondering if it can be installed in the middle of the back seat without the LATCH system...

you can install it in the middle of the back seat without the latch but it is kind of a pain. the top tether has to be anchord over the storage area. not too big of deal unless you need to put a stroller in there since you would have to undo it all the time. you would just install it like you would with any other seat belt. do you have a reason for not installing it on a side of the back seat.

I've been trying to decide whether to get a regent recently too, since I have an '07 Odyssey. I get the feeling that the Regent is difficult to install in the captain's chairs using the SBP. Since my DS is almost 40 lbs, this would be the only way we could install it. I don't have any experience myself with this- does this mean that if you have an Odyssey, your only choice for a bigger kid (the whole point of the Regent) is to put them in the 3rd row?

I recently test drove one and quickly installed one of my Regents in it to make sure it would fit. It installed pretty easy for me with latch and sbp. I haven't tried it with lbp or with the seatbelt. I would love to buy one but I love having no car payment even more. :)

the regent will fit in a captains chair in the odessey it is just very large. if i remember right the headrest had to come off also. it will take some getting used to though i had a super elite for a friends son i watched last year when i bought my odessey and it makes quite the blind spot since it is so large. you just have to find out which location is best for you. i found that the third row drivers side was easiest for me after i had my second daughter. it blocked the least amount of room for me changing lanes and it was easer to get past my daughter ff marathon outboard passenger side 2nd row. i took out the stow and go seat but left the captains chairs second since my 4 ry old thought the baby seat was a good place to store her books.
i've put quite a few seats both rf and ff in my 07 odessey and haven't had a problem. the hardest part is getting them into the third row in the first place. i found folding the smaller side of the back seat down then sliding the car seat onto the other side of the back row and putting the seat up was the easiest way to get them in. you could fold the middle row seats down but since i have two marathons installed there uninstalling and then reinstalling them is more work then the back seat folding.

THank you, then this tells me it's not the right seat for us.

Guess we'll stick with the GN until/unless something better comes along! ;)
