Yes or no? All I can find in the manual is it must be upright when ff at a certain weight?

As far as I know RFing, it has to be reclined. But you can install it more "upright" by pushing where the legs go while tightening.

The manual says it should be in the mechanical recline (pull the handle in the base) when RF. It can technically be in the upright position (per MANY of us speaking to Britax reps), BUT it tends to *break* the recline mechanism altogether, and I would strongly not recommend leaving it in the mechanical upright position when RF. If you want it more upright, pull the base a a little toward the front of the car and push down on area where the feet/knees rest as you tighten the belts, that'll get it plenty upright (even too upright!)
