Howdy -
Not a question here, but I wanted to post it for anyone feeling daunted as I was.
My daughter had thrown up in her car seat a few weeks ago with enough volume that safety and smell combined to tell me to order new straps. From things I'd read here and elsewhere I was not sure I'd be able to do this. I'd read it could be a real bear to get the new straps in, and the only way to get the old ones out was to cut them and other things. I've been sick in bed for the week and a half since the straps arrived so did not feel real motivated to put them in as we were not going anywhere anyway:dizzy::dizzy: Each day, she'd look at the padded envelope and say 'new seat belt!'
Well today I drug the car seat out of the van and into the house and made sure to put the two harnesses side by side and take out one strap than put in one strap so I could make sure I got it right. Even feeling weak as a kitten (to use dh's phrase), I was able to replace the harness and the buckle assembly. Now my daughter will be safer and my van will smell a LOT better! (the sponge bath just did not do it). I think it might have been harder to carry the seat from the van to the house than to put the straps in!
So, to anyone else out there contemplating replacing the straps --- The strap replacement on this car seat was far easier than on any other car seat I have done from other manufactures!:p:p:doh::doh:

Glad you had success. I've replaced the harness on my MA and found it to be very easy to do. The most important thing is just making sure that where the straps attach at the bottom of the seat that they're threaded through properly - there's 2 slots and it's kind of a double back process.

I hope you're feeling better soon, and that your dd doesn't have a repeat episode anytime soon. {{{hugs}}}
