i was reading my mommy forum and i came across someone with a 20lb almost 9 month old, she was talking about keeping her the safest she could and was planning on putting her in a regent, i wrote back explaining the benefits of rearfacing to 1 yr. and 20 lbs. as the bare minimum, besides the fact she would be swimming in the regent.

That's cute she has her eyes set on the regent already. I'd probably also mention that in order to get the max use out of the Regent she might as well wait until her kid is two. That way hopefully her kid will just be outgrowing it when it expires whe she's 8 and ready for a booster.

Good thinking but not so for such a small child - I really wish the regent would change to 30lb - and this is coming from a country where children have to forward face at 26lb, and in a seat belt at 40lb.
