Is this okay for 2 carseat installation?

I know that it's safest for the least protected (i.e. RF) child to be on the outside and the FF on the inside, but our SS1 won't fit behind the seats in our car. They DO fit nicely side-by-side (our convertible is a Scenera), but the SS1 only fits in the middle. Anyway, DD1 is FF. It freaks me out to have EITHER child on the side, though (having been in a side-impact collision prior to children).

Good installs are more important than the "most protected child in least protected position" theory. :)

But, what vehicle do you drive? Is it possible that the SS1 will fit in the center if the handle is left up (that's acceptable)?

How old and heavy is DD1?

What car do you have? I've fit a RF Scenera into pretty tight spots, and still had room to drive. (I'm 5 ft 8, so not short.)
