My BIL just has twins. I need to install 2 Graco SnugRides into his 2001 Honda Accord EX. It has lower latch but when I put the bases in I can lift them up (but not side to side). Is that okay?
Help!!!!!:D

yes, that's fine.
you only need to test for movement at the beltpath. It's okay as long as they move less that 1" in any direction there. The back of infant seat bases can and will lift up.

Yep that's ok. Like Crunchy said just check for side to side, and front to back movement at the belt path.
The seat is designed to "cocoon" to the rear of the vehicle in rebound of a frontal crash. This protects the child, and allows them to move with the crash.
Also, the snugride bases can be loosened if someone torques them enough, or checks the install tightness near the front of the base. They could also possibly loosen over time from the bucket being taken in and out. I would just have them check the tightness of the base once or twice a week to be on the safe side.

Thank you!!!! I was so nervous. I didn't want to install it improperly and have something happen.
It doesn't budge at all side to side, just lifts up.
(I told him someone would have the answer on here!)

Cool. Thanks so much:)
The babies come home today or tomorrow and I feel good that the seats are in properly. I still want them to go to a car seat safety check tho. That way they learn how to install the seat themselves and they would get safety tips from someone besides me (I kind of get thought of as over protective in the family). The seats are going to moved into my SIL's car at some point but I'm not sure when and I have no idea what kind of car she has. Hopefully she has lower anchors b/c it's so easy to install that way. No locking clips to worry about or anything.
Anyways-thanks again:)
I'll let them know about checking the tightness over time. Thanks.
