This is the install that I'm doing tomorrow.
Mom said seat is in with LATCH...and I much prefer LATCH over a locking clip to keep the retractor from tipping the base.
Any tips or surprises I should be aware of?
It's January in MD---I don't think pool noodles are to be found quite yet.
Graco says foot fully extended and then add towels or noodles right?

Depends on the age of the snugride whether the foot is supposed to be fully extended or not when using towels or noodles.
I did a check in an odyssey not too long ago and it seems to me the seats aren't all that sloped. You should be fine with the adjustment built in to the snugride base.
As for a tip, the EZ-Latch connectors graco uses on the snugride are a huge PITA to remove sometimes - you'll need to depress the red button, push the connector in towards the seat bite, twist it and then pull it out. I have a hard time pushing in the red button without hurting my nails. :o But once you figure out the pushing it in and turning it you don't have to hold the red button as long. (Lever might be a better description than button, but you'll know what I mean when you see it. ;))

But with the Ody captain's chairs you should be able to recline the seat which will make it easier to install with the LATCH. I see why you would want to use the LATCH over a seatbelt install for a rf SR.
As far as the install I can't add anything because I have never installed in a Ody before only the Caravan's.
Let us know how it goes

This is a first baby...so I'm hoping this is a new seat.
Mom knew type of seat and that they had it in with LATCH---just wants to make sure it's right.
I told her the check should take about a half hour.
