RF tether placement in Windstar

I have a 2002 Windstar.

My front passenger seat is a captain's chair with LATCH, and my Marathon will be RF directly behind it. I was thinking I could hook the tether to the tether spot (not quite sure what to call it) on the seat in front of it. Is there any reason not to do that? TIA.

It is an anchor for the front passenger seat and yes, you can hook your Marathon's tether strap to this hook as a rear facing tether anchor point (and skip the d-ring ;)).

Just be careful if anyone is adjusting that seat forwards or back that it doesn't pull the adjuster (I can't remember if the anchor is on the actual seat or not). :)

IIRC, that year of Windstar has an actual tether anchor on the floor under the front seat. It's definitely fine to use it. :)
