First, let me say thank you to all of you. I have learned more here than any other source I’ve found. It is wonderful to find other parents who are so concerned with their children’s safety. I’m the “weird” one in my area who does not turn her babies around on their first birthday, continues to harness over 40 lbs, and heaven forbid is willing to spend more than $50 on a car seat!! Most folks here including techs have never heard of Britax.

Ok, now for my question. Has anyone gotten a successful Regent (09/07) install in a 01 Ford Windstar Captain’s Chair? I really want my son driver’s side captains. A little about us:

My son is 4 years 8 months
47 lbs
44 in
17 in torso

He can still fit in his Boulevard (barely) but it is time to put my 20lb. 9 month old in the Boulevard. I love, love, love the Boulevard!!!! It is the easiest car seat to install we’ve ever owned. So, going from that I bought a Regent. (Trying so hard not to vent but I hate it!!) I cannot get a successful install in my van. I’m even concerned with it in the back seat because the buckle is so close to the Regent. I have twisted the belt stalk 2 full times and can’t seem to get it to tightened a third.

So – First question – can anyone help me get the Regent in the middle?

Secondly, if no middle is it ok for the buckle to touch the seat? It is not in the belt path?

Third – Are there any other options for my harnessing him in my husband’s 97 Mercury Grand Marquis? No top tether so no Regent after 50 lbs. Same for our truck 91 GMC. He is currently in a Parkway in those 2 vehicles if needed. He rides in those maybe once a month.

I feel good about dd she is coming out of her Snug Ride into a Boulevard in my van and Triumphs in the other two but will take opinions and suggestions on those if you have any.

So sorry for the long post but I’m kind of at my wit’s end and so excited to find help! Thank you in advance to all who take the time to read this.

PS I'm a newbie so it may take me a while to answer questions as I'm pretty sure I'll be in moderation for a while but I'll be here ready to read!:)

I haven't had enough experience with the Regent to give you much advice. But welcome to the board.

What area are you located---closest big city? Maybe one of us is close to you or we can find a tech who is close enough to you that is familiar with Britax seats.

You can have tethers installed in your husbands vehicles by your local GM dealer.

Have you tried to find a local tech familiar with the Regent to help you? It's not a difficult seat, but there is a learning curve.

Thank you for responding. The closest large city to me is Macon, GA.

I don't personally know techs in Macon, but this will bump your post to the top of the list and possibly someone else will.
