Finding car seat techs in Ottawa

Hi. How can I find a car seat technician in Ottawa who could help with the installation of my rear-facing, convertible car seat? The car seat clinic run by the Ottawa Paramedics with A-Channel isn't until February, and I don't know of any other clinic or service to turn to. The Yellow Pages were pretty unhelpful (perhaps I didn't look in the right place?) I'd be more than happy to pay for the service, of course.

Hi, and welcome to the forums. :) I can't help with locating a specific tech, but if you can post with the specific problems you're having I'm sure we can help you out in the mean time.

There is a tech here from ON, but you'd have to register in order to PM her - I'm not positive what area of the province she's in, but it may be close to you or she may know someone. You'll also need to register if you'd like to reply to this thread, or you can just start a separate thread describing the difficulty you're having. Registration is free & it's quick and easy. You won't get a bunch of unwanted emails either if you're concerned about that. ;)

If you decide to start another thread without registering, the more info you can give us the more we'll be able to help. The kind of info that is most helpful is make/model/year of vehicle, the type of carseat you have, how you're trying to install it (seatbelt or lower anchors,) the age & weight of your child, and if there's a specific problem you're encountering what it is. :)

Also if there are other considerations like having to have other backseat passengers or another carseat already in the back, that's helpful to include as well.

I'm sure we'll be able to help you through some of your problems to tide you over until you're able to get your seats checked. :)
