Triumph Advance in Canada?

Hi there,
I'm new to this board and I'm currently looking to move my dd from her infant carrier to a convertible. I live in Ottawa and have been searching for the Triumph Advance. I've emailed Evenflo and they say.........

Thank you for your reply. The car seat started shipping to Sears Canada at the end of December. It began shipping to Wal-Mart this week and will start shipping to Toys R Us on the 13th. Sears should have it stocked already, although I do not have access to their distribution records to tell you which stores.

I hope you can locate the car seat.

So, has anyone seen this seat at a Toys R Us, Sears or Wal-Mart? I have been to 2 BRU, Sears - catalogue, website and store, and 2 Wal-Marts. I really don't want to have to buy a Titan only to buy a new seat when she outgrows the top slots and we really can't afford the $300 Marathon at the moment. This car seat search is sooooo frustrating!

Can you call the Sears 1-800 and ask them if they can tell you which stores have it in stock or if it available for depot order...if it doesn't work out I think you can return it for a small restocking fee.(the depot orders that is)

When I called ToysRUs, they told me that there was a new Triumph converible in their system, but that it did not have an expected date, and that there wasn't even any in the warehouse at that time (I just called a couple days ago). I don't know if all ToysRUs/BabiesRUs share the same warehouse though.

I swear that Evenflo is getting these Triumph questions confused with the new Titan!

I just sent an email to the person who sent me info about the ETA when I inquired. At that time, there was no ETA, so I responded to her email and asked if she had any new info. I'll let you know when I hear back.

I've been in contact with my local BRU, and apparently they are currently in the midst of inventory so all truck deliveries have been stopped until next week. So I'm guessing that's the reason why there's the delay in shipping to TRU.

I haven't checked my Sears lately, but have to head over towards the mall today & will do that while I'm there. I regularly walk through the carseat aisle at wal-mart, and have been hoping to see it show up there since the old titan is gone, so I'll be keeping an eye out there as well. (My trips might be a tad more frequent over the next month until the nautilus shows up too. :whistle: )

So that will be my mission today apparently... and if Sears does have it, I wonder if their price will be a lot more than what wal-mart and BRU sells it for... wonder who is getting what covers. Hmmmmm. :question:

Based on my Quinny Zapp experiences, Sears distributes from Ont/Quebec and then works west and east from there.. So if you haven't seen them in stores yet locally (a phone call and they'll look it up) they've probably only started distribution (if at all)..

Big stores don't understand that carseats stale-date or why not to just keep their stock tucked away for months and years.. Been to a Zellers lately to look at the dates on some of their seats in stock?

I was on the phone with three different people from Sears today trying to find this seat. Evenflo says they were shipped but all Sears could give me info on were the seats in the catalogue. I guess I will harass the individual stores in my area until I find one. Please - if anyone in the Ottawa area finds out when they're here - be sure to post about it!!!

Oh nice! Why can't I get any info like this out of them? I'll call the two Sears here tomorrow. Only 4 in one store though...!! Man, you really have to be on top of this stuff!

You know what? From the other post, I thought the sale would be a specific sale for the EFTA which meant they had to have stock to sale. But I checked the flyer and it's the generic sale of certain $ off the price of carseat. So no surprise that not all stores had it in.

I might pop into one of my Wal-Marts today to see if they have it, although I REALLY dread stepping into that store...
