The Graco Nautilus is coming to Canada :happydance:
Here is the reply I received from Graco Canada about my inquiry:

Thank you for taking the time to e-mail your inquiry. After some research I found that there will be indeed a Graco Nautilus in Canada. It will most probably be available in WalMart by the end of the month. I hope this answers your question.

Take care,

Yipee!!!!! :D

I get 2 new carseats this month then.

My truck will look a whole lot different with a nautilus and an evenflo triumph advance - you think? :p

eta: Is it really lame that I'm this excited? :o

I have a friend that I know this seat will probably be a perfect option for as well. I'd been contemplating telling her about the apex, but wasn't sure about headrests. The Nautilus fixes that problem and has a higher harness height. :D

I was soooooo excited that I had to start a new thread  Now lets hope that they really do know what they are talking about!

I'm thinking I might need to sell my Radian.

I still love my Radian for travel and the narrowness of it, but Yay for another *good* option for Canada! This makes *two* seats that Aiden will legally still fit in!

Yes, that might happen for us too I think. Although I might keep it for an eventual 2nd vehicle...

Are you hating the Radian harness adjuster in the cold? Mine is so hard to tighten when it's cold outside.

I find all seats except my MA hard to tighten in the cold weather and my Radiann has always been
a pain in the butt to tighten :(

I may need to sell my Radian just to fund the purchase of my new GN (Graco Nautilus). I can't wait

I'm so excited! Happydancing here too :D

Unfortunately I'll have to wait until DS1 outgrows the Radian (probably at least a year from now) before DH will let me buy more seats :(. I'll just have to admire it from the store shelves in the meantime

:jaw:Wow! I am very surprised. Yep, just spent $280 on a Radian and it doesn't convert to a booster. We do need the Radian for RFing though, so I am not kicking myself too bad. It looks way nicer than the UltraCargo we have for DD. I wonder what the price is going to be. My guess is $169 to keep in line with the Platinum and UltraCargos, which I imagine they plan to phase out. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to sell if for $199 though. Yes, this is great news and will likely be a fantastic seat for EHing in Canada!

Edit: Our Premier is very difficult for DH to tighten, and impossible for me to tighten. I don't regret the purchase since it will keep the kids harnessed for a very long time, but I never would have bought it had I known the Nautilus would be heading here.

I just switched to Jen's trick of buckling one side of the buckle, tightening, then doing up the other side, and I was surprised (no offense, Jen ;)) how much easier it is to get it really tight.

:D No offense taken. :D

For FFing, this is what makes it super easy for me...

Buckle as normal. Pull extra slack from hip area. Grab the adjuster strap with the hand furthest from the adjuster/carseat and hold the strap straight out. Now use the opposite hand to push straight down on the strap between the adjuster and your other hand (that's holding the strap straight out). Super quick one motion tightening of the strap even in cold -22 weather... I tested it out in SK over Christmas. ;)

That's exactly what I do with DD's FFing MA. Works great:)

Who hoo!

Any indication if the weight limits will be the same as the US version?

This would be so perfect for my inlaw's car for little miss.

I would guess that the weight limits would be the same for both Canada and the US since the weight limit has gone up in Canada.

LOL, good thing I didn't have the chance to keep the 'stinking' CT Radian then. ;)

Could you have him check for an eta on the triumph advance. (eta meaning the usual - estimated time of arrival. LOL)

Does anyone have a picture of what the nautilus looks like and any of the specifications (even a link to where there is info)? I was trying to find some info about it online, but couldn't find any.

I just called my ToysRUs and she told me that her computer confirmed that they are getting a new Triumph convertible seat, but that there is no ETA yet and none currently in the warehouse.

Bummer. I'll have to call mine and ask too... the one I'd talked to in Red Deer had been expecting it this month - I wonder if they all use the same warehouse?

eta: I just called 2 stores in the city, one was just a regular TRU, the other has a BRU. The first one said no record of the Triumph Advance anywhere, the 2nd said she had no way of checking because they're doing inventory and the computer system wouldn't be showing anything arriving in the next 2 weeks. She also said all trucks have been cancelled for the next week, so it definitely won't be here in the next couple weeks. :(

(I never thought to ask about the nautilus. )

They are doing inventory and DH wasn't able to check their system either :( I"ll have him check again next week to see if something shows up. I know that they Apex was in their system a couple of weeks before it started showing up in stores.

I am slightly confused. I e-mailed Evenflo in case they might have some information, and this is what I received via e mail:

Hi Brenna,

The seat is available now through Sears and will be available sometime this month through Wal-Mart.

Evenflo

Has anyone seen this seat at either of those stores, or has anyone had contact with Evenflo? I was originally told it was going to TRU, so that's where I have been looking.

Nope. Haven't seen it on the sears.ca website or at WM. Did they know it was a Canadian question? Maybe they were confused. Sears.ca does have the new Evenflo Titan though. Maybe they confused those two

Oh, I'm excited about the Nautilus! If its at Walmart, I might actually get to play with it:D I'm going to recommend it to my sister for her ds. Then her dd can have the Radian.

Well, don't hold your breath. This thread was started in the beginning of January, when we were supossed to be seeing them at Wal-Mart at the end of the month..... of January. We still haven't seen it yet.

The Frontier is here though!

Oh that makes me soooooo happy! I want either the Frontier of the Nautilus for my ds but with the price difference I REALLY want the Nautilus! He's in an Eddie Bauer 3-1 right now and has lots of growing room (he's on the 2nd or 3rd highest slot I can't remember which and I should since I had to take it out to clean the seat and then reinstall it :-/) but I wanted to get the Nautilus and move the 3 in 1 to the grandparents' car (they have a Triumph in there now which I want to send with ds when he goes to preschool since he'll be getting picked up). This post made my day!:D
