My friend in Australia was asking about it. What size kid is this good for? 8-26 kg...what is that converted to lbs? Can it rear face? It doesn't look like it. Says it converts from FF to booster, so I guess not.

I've got to get her kids' measurements, but she says there are 18 month olds who tower over her 22 month old, so she's pretty tiny. What seat can I recommend to her (that is available in AU) for her younger one to rear face?

Her older one is over 5, so it looks like the above mentioned seat would be a good fit, but I just wanted to check and make sure.

Thanks!

It's 8 to 18 KG when harnessed (1 KG is 2.2 pounds...so about 20-40 harnessed, then about 60 as a booster). I think they have convertible seats that go RF up to 9 KG, but that's about it, there. I don't think 22 months is too young for this seat. Top tethered and with the SIP it seems to have, it should be a fairly safe FF option.... if she can find a seat that RFs longer, then yeah, that's great, but if the only other option is to import something from the US or whereever and it's out of her budget, I think FF at 22 months is really ok.
I bet 'usmominoz' can give you a good rundown of available choices, though :)

Thanks! Yeah, I knew there was someone on here from AU, but I couldn't remember her screen name.

We loads of seats from Australia here in New Zealand :) That's the Maxi Rider II, forward-facing with the inbuilt harness rom 8-18kg and then you can take the harness out and use it as a) a booster seat or b) add another harness called the "protecta harness" and keep harnessing up till 26kg. There's some more pictures of that seat and the additional harness here http://www.childrestraintsafety.com/extended-harnessing.html And yes, you're right, it definitely doesn't rear-face.

As for rear-facing, they have convertible car seats that rear-face up till 12kg, 26lbs. So she may still very well be able to continue rear-facing, though there are quite poor height restrictions (poor in the sense that very tall children if even not very heavy might be too tall to RF).

This seat is a maxi rider II, it is a 6 point harness,up to 18kgs then converts to a booster which can be used with a H-harness then an ordinary car seat belt up to 26kgs(57.2lbs).
its a good seat for kids up to 18kgs(39.6) but after that i wouldnt use it..my 3yrs old is 18kgs and i personally feel that his body is to small for the harness/car seat belt.
this seat isnt able to be RF only FF.Although it does recline with a recline bar built in for smaller kids.
it isnt as heavy as the regent but it also doesnt go to 80lbs

Not sure about the seat, but 8kg=17.6lbs, 18kg=39.6lbs (which it says the harness goes to) and 26kg=57.2lbs. It also looks as if it is FF only.
