That is a great video.
Did I hear her state "no more then one inch of movement side to side or front to back"? At first, it was shown where to check for movement, which I thought was great, but then later, the lady came on and said both side to side and front to back movement. I cannot imagine a rearfacing seat not having movement front to back.
I wish she would have indicated where the harness straps needed to be placed for the child when rearfacing.

Pretty good!
I do have a few comments, though.
~ It makes it sound like you can only use an infant seat for newborns. I wish the video had mentioned that a convertible is fine to use if it fits the child properly.
~ I wish they would have mentioned that many cars DO NOT have three sets of lower anchors or do not allow "borrowing" of lower anchors, so not everyone can use LATCH in the center.
I do LOVE how they go through all the common mistakes and talk about ERF! Horray!!

If your seat has front to back movement at the beltpath then it's too loose and needs to be reinstalled. Front to back movement at the head of an untethered seat is fine. But you only check for movement at the beltpath.
That's one thing they didn't cover, harness placement. But they didn't get anything wrong in the video. It would have been nice if they mentioned that seats are outgrown by height when.... and that a harness forever is a great idea, and that a booster after that is great.... But for what they said it was fabulous. Check the carseat manual, check your car's manual, don't use used seats, get it checked, keep the kids RFing to 30-35 pounds. Much better than I was expecting.

Yeah, she did say that.
I like that they say to keep a child RF to 30 - 35 lbs, but they didn't mention a height limit - which they should have.

I was cringing about the convertible thing too, but most don't fit newborns well, so I can see why they just skipped it instead of going through the whole explanation, which would have taken probably three of their five minutes.
And the LATCH thing had me scared too until he pointed out that in their vehicle they had three sets, he showed that they were offset ones, and that you need to check the manual to find out where your anchors are. To me that made it a little better, though I would have appreciated a car that didn't have center LATCH. Also, it would have been nice if they mentioned that not all seatbelts lock at the shoulder.

While it is not "perfect," what was mentioned was right-on, which is great! :D

That was probably the best I've seen. And no movement one inch front to back is correct information

At the belt path ;) Yes, the top of an RF seat will move (when tethering is not allowed) but the base should never ever move more than 1"

I think sometimes people mix-up "front to back" and "at the back." While most people understand that the seat shouldn't move at the beltpath, some people mix-up that the back of the seat (untethered, of course) can move but there shouldn't be any front-to-back movement.
Wow, when I reread what I just wrote, I realize it doesn't make a lot of sense! :p

I wish they would have mention not to use after market products like a head snuggler and explain why they used a rolled up blanket to put around the baby's head.
A great video for 1st time parents.
