For my parents . . .

They'll be leasing it. The lease is up on their 3rd in a row Audi A4. Obviously they like them and would be just fine in another one. That said, they've always wanted a BMW too (had a cute red one when I was really little but then moved onto a station wagon, etc.). They really, really liked the 328xi and think they'd like to change things up :).

Carseats aren't a big issue b/c if they take my kids anywhere they usually just take our van. Of course if there are any known conflicts with carseats and these cars it would be great to know!

AWD is a requirement, which both of these have. My Dad has a vehicle for his job and their other car is a Subaru wagon that they own and can rack up the miles on so this one is mainly just for fun and my Mom's commute - 45 minutes one way w/ a lot of stop and go traffic.

I hope it's okay that I posted about this here even though it's not directly carseat related. I've seen so many helpful car-related posts. Thanks for any input!

ETA: I did refer them to informedforlife.org after reading about it here and I know they did some research there.

This I agree with. If those 2 were my only options yep the BMW gets my vote.

Haven't tried to install car seats in it yet (LOL) but my parents have the 328xi and that is a FUN car to drive. Don't know about the Audi but I love the BMW.

Um.. both?

I'd say it's time for a change. I look at it like I only live so many years..why would I go buy the same car over and over again? That's just me though. I want to experience and own as many different vehicles as I can. :D

My husband would pick the Audi hands down. He has this hang up with BMW (I have no idea why), but since he is use to VW it makes sense.

Which dealership is closer? Are they nearby or will they have to drive very far for any warranty work, oil changes, ect... That was a determining factor for us when purchasing a vehicle.

I think with these two cars they are going to feel and drive very similar. I don't know of any reason why to pick one over the other, but price would be a big deciding factor for me. Which car will give you more bang for your buck. More accessories? Longer warranty? Free oil changes? etc....

I would glady take either :)

Oh, and Audi is pronounced "owddy", not "oddie"

Oh I would so take a new CTS over both the BMW or Audi. Man that sedan is SWEET!!!!

Update: They went with the BMW today. They got a sweet deal on an '07 328xi with the premium package in the color they wanted. Since they're leasing they don't mind that it's not an '08 and they ended up getting pretty much the same vehicle but with more options for less $$.

lovinwaves, the Audi dealer is a closer to home but the BMW dealer is closer to where they work so that ended up being a toss-up.

jen_nah, the Cadillac CTS does look like a cool sedan and I've read/heard good things about it but it's just not their style.

oxeye, now I just have to come up with a time when they need to keep my kids and my van so I can take the BMW for a spin

Thanks again!
