For my parents . . .
They'll be leasing it. The lease is up on their 3rd in a row Audi A4. Obviously they like them and would be just fine in another one. That said, they've always wanted a BMW too (had a cute red one when I was really little but then moved onto a station wagon, etc.). They really, really liked the 328xi and think they'd like to change things up :).
Carseats aren't a big issue b/c if they take my kids anywhere they usually just take our van. Of course if there are any known conflicts with carseats and these cars it would be great to know!
AWD is a requirement, which both of these have. My Dad has a vehicle for his job and their other car is a Subaru wagon that they own and can rack up the miles on so this one is mainly just for fun and my Mom's commute - 45 minutes one way w/ a lot of stop and go traffic.
I hope it's okay that I posted about this here even though it's not directly carseat related. I've seen so many helpful car-related posts. Thanks for any input!
ETA: I did refer them to informedforlife.org after reading about it here and I know they did some research there.
