I'm thinking of buying a volo for my 10 mo. It's for short rides. I already have a phil & teds but I like using my car seat with the snap n go for shorter rides in the car. Now I feel I should get a light umbrella for when she outgrows the infant seat, and also cause her SS1 is now too heavy to get in and out of the car everytime so I'd rather have another choice. I can afford to spend more for a triumph or quest (I already had a quest I love), but if the volo is good enough I'd rather save the $ and get an even lighter stroller. She rarely sleeps in the stroller. I just worry it's not padded enough and I've never seen such a young baby in it, even though it's rated for 6months and up. Anything I can add to make it more confy? What do you guys think?

We've been using ours since 5 months for very short no-nap trips (except yesterday, boy, she was zonked out and crumpled over and I was missing my Aria...). None of my kids (we've had it 5 years, they've all grabbed rides...) has ever said it was uncomfortable :)

We started using ours with ds2 when he was 8 months on a trip to DC. He was very comfortable in it and even slept in it. We've taken it to the zoo and he's fallen asleep in it there, too. I'd say it is a fine stroller for a 10 month old and it is sooooo small folded up and sooooo light. Can't go wrong with the volo!

If you want more cush and comfort look at the Uppa Baby G-Lite
http://www.uppababy.com/products/product.php?id=8
It retails for $99, and has a removable insert that is washable.
Very comparable to the Maclaren. Pushes alike, and has the same height. The other difference is it folds differently, and is Lighter at a mere 8.3lbs.
It also stands when folded (big plus for me). When folding you dont use your feet. It is all hand action. There is also a Shoulder strap.

Lovinwaves, how do you think the actual size and seat depth of the uppa baby g-lite compares to a volo? It looks like it may have the seat depth and size of a triumph is that a fair comparison? Thanks!

I've looked into the g-lite too, and I like it that it folds up. But the volo goes to 55lbs, and the g-lite only to 40lbs. I will use it so rarely that I'd like to be able to use it for as long as possible. Is it unrealistic to think a child will still need a stroller at 40+lbs? I have no idea at what age range that will be...

I would say that 40lbs is around 4-5 years old...
Many of the parents here keep a Volo stored away for when they travel and there will either be a lot of walking involved (eg. Disney) or when they need to haul a carseat plus bags through the airport. We've discovered that the Marathon fits forward-facing on the Volo and can be bungee'd to secure it there. Quite useful when you're traveling.
Having a very energetic 4 year old boy, I would also like to point out that having a higher-weight stroller to restrain older kids can be useful when they bounce of walls like my son does. Anytime we're going to a store where we just cannot let him free, we put him in his Volo and he tends to be a little more manageable.
We like our Volos so much that we generally use two Volos, one for my 2 year old daughter and one for my 4 year old son, when we go shopping.

We only have 1 stroller now (GASP... I can barely believe that I survive with only one stroller) and it's a Volo - our daughter has always been quite comfortable in it :)
