View Full Version : Thinking about strollers

I have never had a nice stroller, except joggers, which we use a lot because DH and I are both runners. I would love a new performance line baby jogger with the 20" wheels, but I'll have to settle with contining to use our Dreamer Ditto.
I'm thinking about DC#3 and traveling, etc. and I'm wondering if I need another stroller. Right now I only have a cheapo umbrella and an old Graco LiteRider. I wear my babies, but we'll be flying in August of next year with all three kids bringing 2 carseats--my son has a booster already at Grandma and Grandpa's. Maybe a used stroller frame to hold a SS1 would work and even if I wear the baby, I could pile all the junk in there?
What about P3s? I hear a lot of people like these, but they are so expensive. Is the footplate on the back for older siblings really useful? Would a 3-4 year old be able to use the footplate? Can the stroller handle the weight? Maybe I could find a deal on a used one. I really don't want to spend tons of money.

My almost 4 year old who is 37lbs rides on the foot part of the P3 just fine! It's not hard to push, I really do love that stroller! The combined weight of my kiddos while both of them are on it is 70lbs!!

I love my P3. I often use the toddler board with my 3yr old. When I talked to Peg they said there is no weight limit for the stroller but from experience I know that the more weight the harder it gets to push.

I have a p3 and am totally not in love with it. Its a pita to fold and you can't put anything in the bottom because of the way the frame is. I can say thought that I've had both of my kids on or in the stroller at the same time and it steered fine. I have my eye on a graco cleo with supposedly is modeled after a p3 but cheaper and hopefully with a better folding function.

Does the cleo have the footplate?
I do want easy folding and storage capabilities. It also needs to fold compact/umbrella style to fit in smaller cars.

I don't find the P3 hard to fold at all. The basket is trickier because you acess it from the front where kiddos legs are but i've come to the conclusion it is easier to pull down the side of the basket and stuff things in through the side then use the front. I also love the handles for hanging bags off of :o

I  my P3 and also have to say that it is the easiest stroller I've ever folded... and that includes my baby jogger which is super easy and only requires grabbing a handle in the seat and pulling up to fold it. ;)
My 5.5 year old still rides on the footboard occasionally with no issues. He is 36lbs and 45" tall.
The P3 is my favourite single that I've owned/used.
I've also had an Evenflo Comfort Dimensions travel system and Zooper Sport as my previous single strollers.

It's on Graco's website now, but at $250 I'd much rather have a P3...
I can't tell from the pictures if it's got a footplate or not, it kind of looks like it does, but it doesn't say anything in the description about it.
