I put my radian in an explorer today, and we were in a bit of a rush, so I didn't have time to find a very good rfing tether spot, while I was looking under the front seat, the lady who was driving suggested tethering to the anchor, going up and over the back of the seat the seat was on, that's a no no right? I'm kinda curious though, just in case I'm in a similar situation again.

Do you mean the Australian method (http://www.carseat.org/Technical/tech_update.htm#toptetherRF)? I don't think you can. It's not in the US manual.
As for tethering to the bottom of the vehicle seat on which it is installed, I don't know if anyone has ever received an answer from SKJP about that. Britax doesn't allow it and they're the only ones who have come out and said either way, so I generally just follow their guidelines when posting about rf tether points. I don't know for sure that you can't with a Radian.

I meant the austrailian method, and Yeah, I didn't think it was approved, as it wasn't in the manual.
I just hooked the tether hook to the cary strap loop, to keep it from possibly swinging freely

Yeah, I don't think SK has tested or approved the Australian method...Hmmm..someone should call Russ and ask... (no worries, it's perfectly safe without being tethered :))

My mom has a 2000 Explorer (2 door) and I tether to the leg of the passenger's front seat. I have to really squish my fingers to get the D-ring in there. I couldn't believe how small her back seat is, I have to load DS through the tailgate because she has a 2-door.
