This (http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071128/NEWS/711280317) accident happened near me on Monday. The mom was killed but her son survived with only bumps and bruises thanks to being in his carseat. She left behind a newborn also, who wasn't in the vehicle with her. The kids dad committed suicide 5 weeks ago. Just weeks before his daughter was born. Now these kids will be raised by the grandparents.
So sad. This accident didn't have to happen. At least the 2 1/1 yo was harnessed and made it through.

OMG, poor babies. :crying:
I cannot believe the cause of the accident. How immature of them.

Oh my goodness. Just oh my goodness. Those poor kids. That little girl has so much death surrounding her. Just before her birthday every year will be the anniversary of her dad's death. And then a couple of weeks later her mom's.
And, way to go to the idiot who hit them. It seems fairly obvious he feels awful and will never ever ever forget it, and likely won't do anything stupid like that again (if and when he gets out of jail). He just orphaned two kids. But man, what the heck was he thinking?! I guess he forgot that cars are two ton weapons!
How horrible. Just horrible. And the brother in Iraq, too.

OMG! :crying:
I live in Oregon as well but did not watch the news the past few days. That is just awful. Those poor children. Thankfully there grandparents can care for them.

Wow, that's one of the most awful stories I've heard in a long time. :( I'm so happy the boy is okay, but wow...to lose both parents so closely together, and for such a senseless reason. :(

I felt bad about it but, yeah, I kind of thought the same thing. Did you see her maiden name... O'Hara? Scarlet O'Hara...
