Does anyone know if the newer models of the maclaren twins accomodate higher weight limits, or does it differ between the model (ie techno, traveller, etc.)? I have been searching for a Maclaren Twin and have noticed that some listings for older models say a max weight limit of 80lbs, but on Maclaren' s website I saw models that said a max limit of 110lbs. Anyone know the answer? I really need the extra weight limit, so I want to make sure if I buy used that I know what weight limit it really has. Thanks!!

Both the Twin Traveller and the Twin Techno have a max weight limit of 110lbs... 55lbs per seat.

Hope that helps. :)

Even though Maclaren used to advertise 40lbs per seat, people have called them and confirmed that the newer stroller weight increase can be applied retroactive. Strollerqueen also did a bit of an investigation into this and came to the conclusion that the weights are a guideline, and you should discontinue use of a stroller when it shows signs of straining under the weight.

My 35lb son still rides around in the Maclaren *doll* stroller and it's only just starting to look a bit strained.. :)
