Oh man. My wife and I are looking for a new stroller and this seems to be a great site to get some assistance. Our dd is 7 months and 20-some-odd pounds. The snugride is already getting a bit too snug so we recently purchased a Fisher Price Safe Voyage for the car, but now we need a stroller.
We have a Bumbleride Queen B to push around here at home (we live on the beach and it works on the sand... somewhat). My wife wants something that we can bring on the airplane when we go to Europe this winter, for random bus rides into downtown (San Francisco), etc so it needs to be lightweight. We also want something that reclines.
I have been looking at Rock Star/ Esprit Candy Strollers, Maclaren Quests, and recently saw the Peg Perego Pliko on craigslist near me. Now I hear such great talk about the P3 and wonder if that would suit our needs well...
I don't care about looks so much... This can just get so overwhelming with all the choices!

Thanks!!

Yeah, there're LOTS of good choices. Really the best way to know is to go push a few of them around... hop on down to Lullaby Lane or City Kids or up to Goore's and try them all out... you might love or hate some feature that other people might hate or love! I'm thinking about the Baby Planet or the Joovy, in addition to the Quest, but *I* have to go look at them, too! I tried the Esprit and thought it was really cheap and flimsy feeling compared to a Maclaren.... :twocents:

Although I love Mac Triumphs (and think it'd work for you guys) I think the P3 is honestly the best all-around stroller. It fully reclines, has an amazing sunshade, folds small, is lightweight (imo ;) ) & easily and yet doesn't feel like a "cheapy" stroller.

2  from us! (I use it with a 33lb nearly 2 year old with a 35lbs 3 year old on the jumpbar thingy at times and it still pushes with ease...)

I'm all for the Macs. Best strollers hands down.

i LOVE ADORE CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT my inglesina zippy.

it's DEFINITELY small when folded and the thing I love best - the thing opens and closes ONE HANDED!!!! Think of how many times you have tyke and stuff in one arm and are struggling to open the stroller, too. . ..

mine is 4 years old, used ALL THE TIME for the first 2 1/2 years of usage, now it's used 2-3x week (I have 2 kids now but I STILL grab this stroller - it's THAT awesome!) and it still works like a dream. :)

it's in same price range as the other strollers you're looking at. i never saw one in real life - i bought mine sight unseen from the 'net at http://www.arunningstroller.com

it truly has been one of the items I STILL use and plan on keeping til the kids are totally grown and maybe keeping it after that, too - and I'm the gal whose always giving away or selling for crazy cheap everything i don't use anymore. . ..

If I were going to but a single stroller right now it would almost definitely be a Peg P3.

Anyone know the Pliko Lite? There is one for sale nearby for $100 ("barely used" 2006)...

Okay, dynamics have changed. My mother is coming on Tuesday and wants to get this for us so ordering online (which is all I EVER do!) is out of the question. What's the best I can find at a regular chain retailer (BRU, Target, etc)?

Thx!

depending on the size of your BRU, a lot of the models can be found!

If it's close enough, can you do a visit before your mom comes and check out local stock of all the stores that sell baby gear to see which stores have the stock you're most interested in?

Oh, and be totally ok with taking the product off the shelf and take the seat cover off, whatever, test out baby in it, etc as this will help you decide what you like. also, it's a good idea to 'drive' the various models around the store with weight in the seat of some sort (child preferred, lol) to see how it handles curves, etc., and also how the handle height is for you and the feet kick area. . .. nothing more annoying than pushing a stroller with your regular stride and whacking your feet on the area between the rear wheels.

Online you can get much better pricing, and won't have to pay sales tax...thats a bummer.. :(
