Are you talking abou this: http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Jogger-City-Double-Stroller/dp/B000WG77K8/ref=sr_1_27/103-2687636-8198254?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1192476693&sr=1-27

If so, they did away with my favorite part....the big air tires..

Folds to fit in city dwellers wee bitty cars, though :D. They'll still have the air tire model...phew!

Yes that is the one!! Thanks for the info. I can't wait for someone to review it as my second rider isn't here yet. But I do think it looks promising as a decent cross between an indoor / outdoor stroller.

LOL, this one has a big old SUV but still the regular City Series mini wouldn't fit with all our luggage and everything else we travel with. I'm glad they have an option for us that don't really need the large air tires but want the convenient fold features in a lighter weight stroller.

I still do love those large air tires...but they just were not practical for us and it was really heavy for me to lift a double in and out of our Suburban.

So do the City Mini version have air tires or not? My sis lives in a rural town and can't do the air tires, as they'd get popped all the time!!

No, the new mini's do not have air tires. They have 8inch plastic wheels.

When you say her wheels get "popped" what exactly do you mean?

It's never actually happened as she got a Combi that doesn't have air tires. But she figures the air tires would be punctured because they have to walk on dirt and gravel roads - they live off a dirt road, and even in town there is only 1 sidewalk down main st!

Do you think the 8-in mini's would stand up to "off-road" use? Her Combi has great shock-suspension, but not sure if the mini is made for that. Only reason I'm looking into it is her Combi is huge when folded and she can't even get it into her car trunk! She can only use it when she drives the SUV!

Actually I would NOT recommend any stroller other than air tire for her.

She NEEDS the air tires for her "off-road" use. They will not "pop". They are very durable and specifically designed for offroad usage.

Now, there are some strollers that have air tires that I would not recommend to use on rough terrain, hills, uneven paths. The reason being is the stroller may not be designed to handle that. The tires will be fine, but the stroller could tip easily, or may not have the proper suspension and durability.

Plastic wheels should remain on flat level ground ie: malls

Thanks for that info! The Combi she has seems to be ok with non-air tires, as they are huge! But like I said, it's huge and the front wheel is locked in place! Good for rough roads, but sometimes it's nice to have a swivel!! I may look into the BJ's for her - they're more than she'd like to spend, but that folded size looks incredible!
