Ok, I currently have a Maclaren Quest Mod for my 2.5 yo daughter. I love that stroller!!
I will soon need a double stroller for 2 kids, almost 3 and 2.5. My daughter weighs about 22 pounds now, so maybe 25 at 3 if she is lucky. Our new son (I'll post that story in the coffee break room later) is about 25 pounds now, so maybe 28? when he comes home to our family.
Are the Maclaren twin strollers as nice as the singles? I am looking at a Maclaren Rally (I think that is what its called). I just want something lightweight, folds up small, and easy to push with 2 toddlers. Thanks!

Congrats on your new little sweetie!! :)
I'd go with a Mac Twin, absolutely. They're very nice to push- all double umbrellas are going to be a tad on the heavy side, if comparing them to a single, but NOTHING like one of the all terrain doubles (those suckers give new meaning to the word heavy!). The Mac Rally twin is on sale for $200 at Albeebaby.com, I'd go for that one if you don't care about having a 2007 model Twin. I also like the Twin Triumph, super easy to push.
That said, I recently bought an Esprit Sun Speed Duo, and it's a really nice little double umbrella, but the quality is nowhere near as nice as a Mac. :twocents:

the maclaren rally twin is the 2006 model. for 2007 the name changed to the triumph twin. i believe they are identical except for the fabrics. they lowered the price when they changed the name so as not to confuse it with the top end techno twin. full retail for a 2007 triumph twin is $225.
we have the triumph single and the triumph twin, both 2007 models, and we love them both. i don't like the double quite as much as the single, simply because it's heavier, but it's about as light as they get as far as twins go. and macs are famously easy to fold and to push.

I have a Maclaren Techno single stroller that I love. I also have a Inglesina Twin Swift. The Inglesina has three handles and the Mac only has two (on the outside). When I unfold my Inglesina I actually use that middle handle to get it open. The Inglesina is alot cheaper than the Mac. Check them all out. I also find that the Inglesina pushes just as nice as the Mac.

My sis has the Inglesina Twin Swift. We used it at a festival over the weekend with DS and DNi and together they are 80lbs(maybe slightly more)... it was pretty tough to push, but I do love that middle handle. Id say you could probably push it more comfortably in the mall and such, we were on street/sidewalk. I think the weight limit is 45lbs each seat and I really cant see making it to that weight. My Mac Vogue pushes DS at over 40lbs like he only weighs 20lbs. Id totally be tempted to get a mac! but I do love that middle handle...
She uses it for a 3yo and infant and it is completely fine for them. She actually stands behind DNi and pushes her and DNe just sidecars along lol!

Congratulations!
You can't go wrong with a Mac Twin.
As soon as DD gets tired of the bottom seat of the T & Ps, I am definatly getting a Mac Twin. I test drove one in the mall yesterday (Borrowed it off another mom with twins) and it was awesome.

Sorry, my post was worded weird- I meant to say that if you don't mind NOT having a 2007 model, the 2006 Rally Twin is a great little stroller. I think that the 2007 Twin Triumph and the 2006 Rally Twin may differ in weights, and the Twin Triumph does not have reversible seat pads, while the Rally Twin does. HTH!
I've had the Twin Triumph and the Twin Traveller and they were both really nice- the Traveller is more suited to infants, IMO, because of the headrests, foot muffs, etc.
If you really want to delve into the world of stroller details, check out the StrollerSwap Yahoo Group. But prepare for a hard and fast addiction. I bought and sold a dozen strollers the first 6 months I was a member, LOL!!! ;)

hmm... our twin triumph has the reversible seat pad inserts... one side is red and the other side is navy. we don't even use the pads in summer and they just make it a little more difficult to fold. the pad inserts also tend to sag and shift a little. our single triumph doesn't have the pad insert.

We have the Rally twin and love it.
It replaced the Aria Twin by Peg Perego. That was jsut too lightweight for my growing boys (and they're only 25 and 31lbs). There was some "play" in the handles when pushing it. Trying to direct it so hard gave me sore wrists after a shopping trip.

I Loooove my Mac Twin techno. I really like some of the features that are different from the Triumph.
I have also heard good things about the new Baby Planet Twin. Never pushed one myself, though.
Congrats again!
