Does anyone know the length of the Radian 65 replacement buckle that is longer? How much longer is it than the one that would come with the seat I will be purchasing? Thanks!

Oh, also, I keep reading about problems with the buckle width being to short? I'm confused about this to. Thanks again.

If I remember correctly, it is an inch longer...

And I think some people have a problem with the buckle tongue being a bit too narrow that it kind of folds the harness a bit which may eventually lead to some twisting in the straps. Total PITA.
So far though, I haven't seen the need to replace with the wider buckle tongues.

I'm pretty sure it's not the buckle/crotch strap that ever gets replaced, it was the harness adjuster strap on some of the VERY early models that was too short and had to be replaced. The buckle 'tongues' (SK calls them tongs, erroneously) can be replaced if you wish, the 'wider' ones will prevent the harness from folding a little as it runs through them (hmmm...need a picture, this would take me way more than a thousand words to describe, lol). At any rate, like the PP, I've never felt the need to relace the originals, the fold isn't bad enough to bug me.

Jeez, my seat must be total junk! LOL, no, really, I have the old original model and I swear I've never had a problem with any of it

My radian was made in 3/07(my other one was 12.06) and i replaced the buckle and the tongues on both. The crotch strap is 1" longer. The tongues i just replaced so i wouldn't have to later. The original ones made the harness kind of fold over a little bit and after a while it can make the edges of the harness fray. So i replaced them before it messed my harness up.

Hmmm...wonder if I have a short crotch strap as well, and that was the reason it was so difficult to get DS strapped in the other day(it's not his seat, and was the first time he rode in it).

Unless you bought the longer crotch strap specifically, you will have the shorter one.
I asked the SKJP customer service person and she said that the ones that come with the seat are the shorter ones (5.5in)

You shouldn't have to pay anything for it/them. Just call SK and tell them you need the longer crotch strap and the wider buckle tongues. Thats what i did on both mine and they sent me 2 sets free.

Not anymore--unfortunately they are now charging for them--it's on their website. I got my buckle tongues by emailing Russ, but a few other posters have had great difficulty getting them by that method now. I checked their site today, and I think the tongues were 2.95, and I think the strap was 5.95--no idea about shipping, though.
