View Full Version : Carseat plastic has white streaks like stress marks

Not my seat, so I can't take pics or anything. It's a graco infant seat. It has two white sorta streaks in the plastic. It looks like that kind of white plastic gets when it's been bent or banged. It's on the back sorta near the highest harness slot. It was bought new, never been in a wreck, and is less than a yr old.
Would this concern you?

It would concern me. I'd take pics and then call Graco and find out what they think of it.

Mine did that; Graco replaced my base for me no problem.

I had a bunch of those om my Combi infant seat. I called and emailed pictures and they said that it was fine to use. I would still call, because I would want to know for sure.

My Graco Snugride is like that. I was showing the seat to a friend the other day, and I was shocked to see a lot of white marks like that on the underside of the seat. Mine is the silver/gray plasic color. I know the seat has never been in any kind of "trauma." It is just about 1 year old now. Most of the marks were around where the seat locks into the base. I assume it's just normal, but maybe I should call Graco.....maybe they'll even send me a new one....one that has the newer EPS foam.....

My base did that. Graco refused to replace it. :(

The fact that skaterbabscpst got hers replaced for free makes me angry. That's just another case of "luck" when it comes to customer service. I got crappy CS, she got good CS. :mad:

Mine was only four months old and only in use one month, that may have made the difference.

some whitish blemishes are normal, and are just artifacts from the casting process.

I think mine was about a year old at the time.

Yeah, we bought ours in July and I called Graco in November. It hadn't been in use more than a month.
