View Full Version : Apex 65 giving her back pain!!!

This really stinks. I finally get the seat in tight, figure out how to get her in and out and now, after only 3 days, she tells me there is something "digging" in her back. My normally sleepy-in-the-car DD says she can't wait to get home that she can't sit any longer. As soon as we get home I pull the seat out to see what the problem is. Apparently the top tether runs the length of the seat exiting about 12 inches from the bottom. The webbing is nice and smooth until this point where the stiching makes it a huge bumpy square. Now What do I do? I do not want to remove the tether but we couldn't even make it on a hour long trip. What gives? Anyone else have this problem??? By the way, this is w/out the comfort pad which I'm not sure if I can use until the new buckle comes in. Seems tight on her legs.

I don't have any great advice, but call Dorel and let them know this design is very uncomfortable.

I have an uncomfortable area in a Bolero. I grabbed a small disposable diaper (new, haha!) and wedged it behind the cover and it solved the problem without being too padded. Maybe this would work for you and be safer than removing the tether!

It's only a problem without the insert. If you follow the path of the tether strap from it's begining on the back of the seat you'll notice the actual webbing runs on the inside of the seat, between the seat back and seat pad. There is about a 2x2 inch square that would sit right behind the small of the childs back. We are using the insert so that she is comfortable but this is negated by the fact that are little legs are squished. We are waiting for the longer crotch strap. The worst part is DD isn't sleeping in the car!! Feeling like I should have made a different choice. What do you do!

How long ago did you order the longer crotch strap?

Less than a week ago. I don't remember how long they said it would take. Hopefully in the two week range like some of the others.
