Excited & disappointed

My nephew was born today is just too cute. He weighed in at 6lbs 15oz & measured 19.5". I was soooo PO'd on the way home when I realized that DH & I had so much fun visiting that we forgot to take pics. Idiots we are! Hopefully I'll get to go visit tomorrow & get a pic or 2.

What disappointed me was to hear my BIL's wife tell me that my 42lb 5yo niece NO LONGER NEEDS A CARSEAT :eek::mad::thumbsdown::eek:

I was so mad when she said that. She, BIL & her family think I'm a total crackpot about my DS's seat safety. I'd have better luck convincing a brick wall to use a child seat then them. I just pray they never get in accident & learn the super hard way that she should've been in a harnessed seat.

I feel your pain in both of those situations! My niece is 4 years old and when she is with me she WILL be in a car seat with harness! Britax MA. i had bought a booster but will sell it.

And the photos, that has got to hurt. I live with my camera. My nephew was born in Jan and those first photos i treasure for life. My nieces first photos are my favourite.

And I feel your disappointment. A very good friend of mine insists on keeping her 3yo in a crappy hbb and her very petite 6yo in a backless booster- even after all the statistics, crash test videos, etc. I love those kids and pray that they are never hurt or killed because of their parents' decisions :(
