View Full Version : Where to order the Signo?

I have been reading the many posts about the Signo and it's many delays. I'm getting ready to order one for each car, but was wondering who will have them first.

Am I correct in thinking that it doesn't matter who I order with since they are being shipped directly from the distributor? I want someone who is willing to accept them back if there is an issue with comfort or fit.

Your thoughts and comments are appreciated.

You can purchase return shipping insurance for a nominal fee ($2-3) if you buy from elitecarseats.com. If the seat doesn't work out, they will send you a prepaid FedEx label, saving you whatever it would cost to ship a 20+ pound carseat back. I've had really positive interactions with their customer service as well. HTH.

It's not that great in my opinion...

Is there anywhere near you that you can try it in your vehicle before you order it? I'd recommend that with any carseat.

I just went and looked up that policy. You pay $7.99 in shipping and then $2.99 insurance, and another $4.99 when you ship it back. That's nearly $16 in shipping, plus they deduct (http://www.elitecarseats.com/custserv/custserv.jsp?pageName=returns)for any possible scuffs? Have you seen the Recaro boxes that have been showing up? What happens if you like the seat? You pay them $11 more than anywhere else? I'm not quite sold on that insurance. I know, always the skeptic. :p

if it means anything at all, right start just changed there instock date to Dec 1.
I know elite says oct. but I've ordered from them before & waited over a month beyond the estimated due date.

Just a quick note on my exp. with ECS and returns; I've recently ordered a Radian and a Como and returned both- I paid $7.99 shipping to me, and $2.99 return shipping ins. That's all. And when I called them and requested a return label, they never asked me a question or gave me a hard time- I got a pre-paid FedEx label emailed to me and then scheduled a FedEx pick up at my house- I didn't even have to take it to Kinkos, etc. And I was told that if you purchase the return shipping ins, they take it back no matter what, even if the box is beat up and the seat is damaged (this happend to the Radian I ordered) and they don't charge you anything. If you have any questions, call ECS and ask for the CS manager, her name is Janice.

If you're sure it will work for you, I'd definately recommend ordering from LovinWaves- the price is great and she ships the same day

check out rightstart.com

see if you live near one of their brick and mortar stores (click on store locations). you pay $10 for shipping and if you don't like it, you can return it to any B&M location for no charge. they are in multiple states (although, i doubt you're close to white plains, if you're in the NY adirondack region, so this may be moot).

There is an order to which stores get them and when. I don't know for sure what that is, but I would guess rightstart.com has a high pecking order since they already did receive 16 of them. I know the B&M store by us is still waiting on their first shipment of Como's that they ordered back in February. I preordered a Signo from on-line and am hoping to get it soon after they come out. But, you never know. I have a feeling it will be a while before they come out anyway.

I'm hoping the start releasing the Signo before December. Thomas just passed 6 months and is 20 lbs 7 oz. He's reaching the upper limit of his infant carrier (and my back). I may have to order a pair of the Como's instead. I guess I can live without the infinite adjustment.

Does the Como have the same Latch bar as the Signo? From what I can tell, they are essentially the same except the straps.

Thanks.

Ben

No, the Como doesn't have the bars for the LATCH straps like the Signo. The Como's LATCH strap threads through the belt path.

The head wings & EPS foam are different, too.

I am really wanting to wait for the Signo, but my better half is pushing to order the Como's now.

I wonder which retailer will get them first.....
