I'm surprised I got DS to nearly 3 before he worked out how to loosen the harness on his BV - he's a curious kid and I really thought I would be dealing with this when he was younger.

Anyways, which would work better - the training kit from Britax (or is that a pain for the parent too), or putting a few stitches along the side of the flap so that it only opens a little from the bottom? Any thoughts??

Emmit loosened his harness so I sewed the flap shut on his cover (after I figured out that safety pins wouldn't hold it). He must have gotten the idea because even when I change his cover out, he doesn't mess with it now.

Have you talked to him about it? This doesn't work for every child, but Evan just did this for the first time the other day and we talked and mentioned his straps had to be tight to be safe etc and he hasn't touched it since. I do make sure to close the velcro when I put him in so at least I can hear that if he starts to go for it. I think a few stitches would be easy and do the trick.

I did talk to him about it, he got upset as I told him if the straps aren't tight he won't be safe. It's the 2nd time he's done it and the 2nd talk - I'll put a few stitches in it tonight just to make sure.
