Thanks... ordered a Radian in princess

Hello all,

I live in Ontario, Cananda... A big thank-you to everyone for posting so much good safety info here. I have just put a Radian Premier on hold in the princess colour :love: for my 2-1/2 yo DD. She's a tall girl and I'm so pleased to have found a car seat that will accommodate her for a good long while in a 5-point harness.

I have one on hold at www.tummiestotots.com in London, Ontario. Even though they don't list the princess colour on their website, I decided to call to see if they were getting any, as some mums had suggested here, and they said "a limited number should be arriving next week". So I put down a deposit.

I also found www.dearbornbaby.com and wwww.babyproofingplus.com, both in the Toronto area (and on-line) are carrying the new 65lb weight limit seats in princess and other colours, in case anyone is wondering where/who is carrying the 65lb seats in Ontario.

Dang! I just ordered through babyproofingplus and was dinged $46 for shipping, even though it says free shipping over $100. Dearbornbaby has free shipping! I emailed babyproofingplus..but I don't expect a speedy reply, as I have an unanswered reply from Wed....so who knows!

Can you call to cancel that order? It would be faster than waiting for an e-mail reply.

I know tummiestotots.com also offers free shipping, but you would need to give them a call to reserve one in princess (and ask if there's a shipping surcharge for heavy items). Such a shame to pay an extra $46 for a shipping surcharge :thumbsdown: I am close enough to pick mine up in person.

Edited to add: I checked dearbornbaby.com and they have this note in their shipping charges section "Oversized product or Orders shipped to some remote areas may be subject to an additional shipping charge. If there is additional charge to your order, you will be notified prior to shipping". So I would call whomever you end up buying from first to see if there's a shipping surcharge. On tummiestotots.com, they do not make note of any shipping surcharges... probably worth calling them over dearbornbaby.com. Let me know how you make out.

Babyproofingplus emailed me back, saying that it is unlikely that they could give me free shipping and that Dearbornbaby has a disclaimer about extra shipping on large items. I called Dearbornbaby and they said that due to the amount of my order, there is no shipping on it!
I have requested that babyproofingplus cancel my order or offer me the same deal. I'll let you know how that turns out!

That's great! I'm glad you managed to get a good deal from dearbornbaby! I'm still waiting for my Radian to come in. Should be in this week. My DD will be more comfortable in the Radian.

We have a Safety 1st Intera right now and it was recalled. The replacement part is coming for that. It will go in DH's car as a back-up seat. The Intera is quite snug for her now, so happy to have made the decision to replace it.

I just rec'd my radians today. They are wonderful! I am so amazed at the thought of the design. Storage for every little clip, strap and even the instructions are attached...love it!
The kids are over the moon with their new seats. Haven't installed them yet....hope all goes well!
Dearbornbaby had them shipped right from their distributors...I rec'd it 2 days after they were shipped (right to my door, and all for free!!)!

Awesome Jolenet... I'm still waiting for mine to come in and decided to check the website to see if they were listing the Radians in princess, and they are... at $289, not 269. So, I'm switching my order to dearbornbaby. Glad you received such great service from them and free shipping to boot :thumbsup:
